It’s not reasonable to rate insurance until a claim needs to be made. So, I don’t know if this was adequate insurance or not! The price was reasonable relative to others. I have no other reason to recommend this plan.

Travel insurance prices have GREATLY increased since COVID. We always get the travel insurance for large trips like this safari but this year the costs of the travel insurance have increased significantly.
We have only put in a claim for travel insurance 1x in a dozen safari trips to Africa (and that was for only a mere $100 +/- claim for a hotel when our flight was delayed). At over $2600 for the insurance we could have put that money aside for a future trip. I think the price has gotten out of hand. Not sure if I will continue to use travel insurance in the future - or maybe I will use it only for a fraction of the trip costs.

InsureMyTrip provided me with an excellent representative to discuss my complicated trip to South Africa with my 2 sisters. The Rep Kathy was through and very patient with me, explaining all my options. By the end of the transaction I felt I knew exactly what my coverage was, I was confident that the insurance covered the 3 of us traveling together, and I could breathe easier knowing we had our backs covered. I will definitely use Insure MyTrip for upcoming travel.

C&F Travel Insured InternationalWorldwide Trip Protector Plus
My claim was eventually paid after 9-12 weeks, but the experience was horrible. C&F's website apparently doesn't work properly (they alleged they couldn't see some uploaded documents that were in my claims folder, yet saw others of the same format with no problem.) It took multiple calls, emails, and complaints via the website help desk to get my unresponsive claim adjuster moving on my claim or to even respond to documentation. As an insurance claims professional (P&C) myself, I was incredibly displeased and it got to the point where I said I wanted all communication in writing in case I had to purse this further. Suddenly, my claim was paid. I had a previous travel insurance claim in 2013 with another carrier that went perfectly. I just cannot recommend C&F after this experience. The product is fine, the service is horrendous.
