AIG Travel
Travel Guard Basic
We bought the Insure My Trip to cover the possibility that one of us might be too ill to make the trip. I noticed that there was a small amount of medical insurance but who cares. On our arrival in Wengen the roads and side walks were icy. I'll be careful. But I was not careful enough. My feet went out from under me and my head went back. When my head hit the pavement I was knocked out. My son woke me up. That son called our other son, a RN in an emergency room. "Get him to a Doctor.", he said. I was hospitalized over night. My wife brought the AIG information with us. She called AIG to report the accident.
From that point on AIG kept in contact with us, offering help at all points of my recovery. That $10,000 of medical insurance became a life saver. I filled a claim with AIG yesterday, January 19. All my medical costs were covered. That saved us from a very difficult situation.
The $10,000 turned out to cover all our costs in this accident. However, costs could have been much greater. I will insure future trips for much more than the minimum.
Thank you AIG. I feel that, "WE WERE IN VERY GOOD HANDS.".
I KNOW, I KNOW, WRONG COMPANY.

"We are sorry to learn of your frustration. The description of coverage for the plan purchased mentions “covered perils†but unfortunately a mechanical malfunction on a plane is not listed as a coverable peril. We are sorry that our response could not be more favorable to you.
We encourage all individuals who are considering the purchase of a travel insurance plan to carefully review the description of coverage or the plan they are interested in before they purchase to fully know the extent of coverages offered in the plan."
