I am very pleased with AIG I had a family member in intensive care and had to come back from my vacation. I lost 11 days of my vacation and filed a claim. Scott assisted me and I was thrilled with his professional manner. He was sincere and helpful and I appreciated that. My family new I came back early and felt bad I had lost so many days of my vacation. Family always comes first and I reassured them I had bought insurance and would try to file a claim. AIG reimbursed me for the 11 days lost and since I told my family a check was sent to me they realize in the future they will purchase insurance on their trips in the future. Some thought the insurance would be a scam, they now see it is definitely worth the extra money. Thank You

All my claims were fully covered, even the medical Rx's incurred after we had our emergency return from the trip. Airline costs, medical costs, and lost vacation days due to our illness all covered and paid in full.

Upon landing in PHL, I noticed that United had smashed my double hardcase Sporttube. While there was no damage to the skis, the case was ruined. United wrote up a claim but would only offer me a $75 voucher. I only use frequent flier milage when flying United so the voucher was of no use to me and didn't even cover half of what a new Sporttube would cost. After trying multiple times to reach a representative in United who could help me, I turned to AIG. Their response was courteous and in short time they refunded me the entire cost of the double Sporttube. I will definitely use them again on any of my trips and I would recommend them to any travelers, especially those flying United.

It was 2 1/2 months before the claim was paid which I thought was extremely slow. I felt like the claims reps were more interested in not paying the claim than paying it. Finally the claim was paid in full so it turned out OK.

We do want you and your fellow customers to be aware that InsureMyTrip offers a Customer Advocate Program. Customer Advocates are representatives assigned to assist customers who experience issues after filing a claim. Requesting a Customer Advocate is as simple as calling 800-487-4722 or emailing [email protected], explaining the events which resulted in a claim, and the challenges you are facing.
My trip from Houston to Martha’s Vinyard was cancelled because of suspension of ferry service from high surge and heavy rains along the New England coast due to the hurricane Jose. I never received the decision on my claim in writing and my wife tells my that someone left a message that my claim with AIG has been denied. I Wasted $100 to protect two air tickets worth $800. Because hurricane Jose was named on September 5 and I bought my insurance for a trip on September 21, the hurricane was foreseeable. The purpose of insirance is to cover such risks and who knows where these hurricanes go or disappear in ten days. This TravelGaurd is a big scam and as a traveler you see these ambiguous fine prints when you have purchased the policy. What a sham and dishonesty it is. Will never buy another travel insurance again. I am not happy with insuremytrip either for not supporting their customers.

The policy states: "The Company will reimburse the Insured for Forfeited, prepaid Trip Cost up to the Maximum Limit shown in the Schedule or Declarations Page for Trips that are canceled prior to the scheduled Departure due to any of the Unforeseen events shown above."
Once a storm is named, it becomes a foreseen event under any policy and not covered under the Trip Cancellation or Trip Interruption. It is very important to read through your policy prior to purchasing your plan, to see exactly what is covered and excluded. Since my plans were made in November 2016 and I wasn't traveling until June 2017, I thought it prudent to purchase insurance because of the time span involved. It was a smart move because I became ill and needed to cancel the trip. From my first call to AIG and further emails with a representative, I couldn't have been treated in a more friendly and concerned manner. In the last call I received I was told I would be receiving a full refund, which I did. I would definitely recommend purchasing the AIG Travel Guard Basic Plan to anyone who is traveling. It would certainly give them peace of mind to know the protection would be there for them if needed. I know I will use AIG on my next trip.
