The policy is the cheapest and provided the coverage needed. But be prepared to wait when claiming against the policy. I claimed from the policy for expenses resulting from a flight delay. The amount was a small reimbursement for meals and it took 2 months to be processed and paid.

Bought this very basic plan due having an elderly mother who had been in hospice care for months. She passed away 2 days before the trip was to begin. We filed the claim, provided the requested materials, and a check was deposited in less than 4 weeks. Very easy to talk to and very sympathetic to my situation. Would not hesitate to buy from this company again.

The plan was reasonably priced and provided the coverage I needed.
I did have to file a claim and it was handled fairly and to my satisfaction.
The only negative that I can say is that the correspondence after filing the claim was totally absent, until the claim was approved.
I was not notified that the claim was received, no status of the claim along the way and no real idea as to when it would get reviewed.
Outside of the communication issue, everything else went great.

We ended up having to file a claim for trip delay (due to weather) and related additional expenses. Process of filing was straightforward and the company promptly paid us the trip delay benefit.

I travel regularly and have for 25+ years. I have never purchased trip insurance. Due to all the uncertainty with COVID I decided to buy it just in case. Long story short, our Sunday flight home from vacation was canceled by the airline they weren’t able to get us on another one until Tuesday! We had to be back for work/school and ended up paying $1,500 out of pocket to get home on Sunday as we had planned. The airline was terrible to us through the whole ordeal and I was so angry. Then I remembered the insurance!! I submitted a claim with my receipts as soon as we got home and was reimbursed for our out of pocket costs within 5 weeks. Easy Peasy. Definitely recommend!

I contracted covid while on our family vacation so we had to spend an extra week at our destination isolating in a hotel room. We had $3,600 of additional expenses as a result, and the trip insurance covered it quickly and efficiently without even a question once we submitted our paperwork.

I actually had to file a trip cancellation claim for medical reasons, and I was reimbursed fairly to my expectations. Claim was processed quickly, and the evidence required was appropriate, including Dr. notes and diagnosis. Sometimes getting insurance claims can be an uphill battle, but Berkshire stood by what coverages they provided and did pay the claim quickly. The claims process can be done completely online, and while you do need to spend some time gathering receipts and evidence, it's fairly easy to upload to the website. I'd use them again.

We had a travel problem due to sickness and the outcome with our travel insurance was fantastic. I have never filed a claim before so this experience convinced us to invest in this protection with BH in the future. Very easy and fast!

Claims take 8 to 10 weeks for the initial review and then they will get back to you if they need more information. I shudder to think if their was a real emergency and you needed them ASAP. Actual reimbursement time was less than 4 weeks so review updated.
