It took many calls and repeated copies of trip cancellation before we received a refund of our trip deposit. The process took over 75 days for something that should have been quite simple and straight forward.

We do want you and your fellow customers to be aware that InsureMyTrip offers a Customer Advocate Program. Customer Advocates are representatives assigned to assist customers who experience issues after filing a claim. Requesting a Customer Advocate is as simple as calling 800-487-4722 or emailing [email protected], explaining the events which resulted in a claim, and the challenges you are facing.

They will pay after Medicare and own secondary insurance does. So I assuming they will pay if there is anything to be paid. They did phone me the next day to make sure I was ok, and explain the process

I felt that they excluded items from my claim that should have been paid. Their policy covers "any reasonable additional expenses incurred (meals, accommodations, local Transportation, and telephone calls);" but they refused to reimburse for tips for the local transportation and hotel. Tips are an expected part of local transportation and hotel check-ins, and I think that that AXA is misinterpreting the terms of their own policy in disallowing them.

We are glad we were able to assist you in getting the majority of your trip delay claim paid. We apologize that AXA Assistance USA is unable to reimburse the tips you paid during your trip delay. However, as with all travel insurance claims, receipts and documentation are required for an expense to be covered. Covering undocumented expenses would open the door to many fraudulent claims. We apologize for any inconvenience, and thank you for your business.

Had to cancel due to an illness. Help from AXA was good but we needed to keep sending more and more medical documentation and proof of travel purchases. It took about 2 months by the time I had to try on my own and get refusals before I could really make a request to AXA. I suppose this is par for the course for any insurance though.
