While the pan itself served my needs, I had to file a claim, as one of my travel companions had a family medical emergency, and had to cancel his portion of the trip. The trip was cancelled on Feb 16, 2019, and it took more than two months for the claim to be processed, and benefit check to finally arrive on April 25, 2019. Way too long! Their customer service recording states they try to process claims within thirty days of the forms and documents being received. I initially filed the claim online, filled out all the requested information, and submitted it to their claims dept. Two weeks went by without a word, then I get an e mail telling me that more documentation is required. Wish I could have received that memo a day or two after submitting the initial form, rather than wasting two weeks! the entire process just seemed to take much longer than it should have. I will probably not purchase any more plans from Travel Safe.

Claim was mailed to Trip Mate on 10/03/17. Case was closed by Trip Mate 11/27/17 and claim was approved. Refund check was dated 11/27/17. Envelope was post marked 12/01/17. Received on 12/07/17. Why does it take 2 months to get this done?! The premium is required to be paid within 14 days of the initial deposit, in order for the pre existing conditions to be waived. All documentation to proof the claim was provided. In the age of electronics why is this so cumber some?! Looks like what's good for goose is Not good for the gander?!

Trip Mate, who handled your claim on behalf of TravelSafe, generally expected to finalize your claim and provide payment within 30 days or less of receiving your claim. Unfortunately an intense hurricane season increased the number of claims and delayed that turnaround time period from 60 to 90 days. As you know, Hurricane Irma struck from August 30th to September 12th; Hurricane Jose ranged from September 5th to September 21st; and Hurricane Maria from September 16th to September 30th.

I purchased the Cancel For Any Reason plan. I did have to cancel and promptly filed the claim. I spent many hours providing every single detail and produced a summary document that covered everything. After over 2.5 months of waiting, Trip Mate finally completed the review and have informed me that I will get nothing.... They had managed to find some fine-print in their contract. Nothing at all??? Last time that I use them.

The claim process does appear slow to many travelers. TravelSafe required you to submit your Notice of Claim within 20 days of your loss. However, the claim representative does not review and determine coverage until he has received all forms. This review period may add up to 30 days to the entire claim process, so it may take up to 60 days from the date you first filed your claim until you receive payment.
As you requested, we did follow up on the unpaid portion of your claim. Under Trip Interruption you were eligible to receive reimbursement for the unused portion of your prepaid non-refundable accommodations and “Additional Transportation Cost†which “means the actual cost incurred for one way Economy Transportation by Common Carrier reduced by the value of an unused travel ticketâ€.
Mileage reimbursement for use of your own vehicle was not a covered expense so you did not receive reimbursement for that portion of your claim.

Unfortunately had to cancel our pricey trip to Deer Valley ski resort in Utah due to my wife's slipped disk in her neck requiring surgery. Our booking was paid in full with a 45 day cancellation requirement or lose entire cost. The TravelSafe policy reimbursed us 100% after submitting a reasonable amount of paperwork, and we received the checks in a few weeks time. I haven't always purchased insurance for every trip, but I will now.

I have purchased travel insurance many times but this is the first time I placed a claim. I had to cancel my trip due to illness in the family. The process was extremely easy. It was also very easy to get updated information on the claim's progress online. When I had a question, a call to customer service was answered promptly. The customer service rep was very pleasant and helpful.
I had my refund check in my hand less than a month after I sent the claim supporting documents to Travel Safe. Thank you so much for making an urgent situation much easier!

The claim took approximately 90 days to process. I've filed claims with other companies and it never took that long! I was satisfied with the amount but still wasted a lot of money on the premium since that wasn't reimbursed. Thanks to InsureMyTrip the claim was finally processed. If they hadn't contacted them for me then it probably would have taken much longer.
