When my trip was forced to be cut short due to the death of my father-in-law, we incurred non refundable hotel costs and airfare change fees. When I contacted Travelex, I was sent a 10 page form to be filled out, including one page which required the patient's doctor who I did not know nor had ever been in contact with. The doctor filled out the form as if it was for my father-in-law making the claim, not me because it was so confusing. Never did file the claim as my charge card covered the issue with no hassle at all. Makes me mad that I ever bought travel insurance since it appeared the insurance company was trying to make it impossible to prove that there was a covered incident.

June 14 I just sent in my claim for medical aboard ship and lost bag when departure between ship and air port. Now I will find out how good they are. The claim I turned in was taken care of in about 8 days after sending in claim VERY satisfied.

First time to file a claim on travel insurance. Had accident with rental car in March. Travelex was great! Just settled claim with rental company. Will use Travelex Ins. again!

After years of purchasing travel insurance, this is the first time I have ever had to file a claim. We tend to take adventure trips to various countries, many of which are third world. I've never been concerned about having to cancel a trip, but rather getting hurt while on the trip. Unfortunately, my wife had an unfortunate accident that required arm surgery several weeks prior to our scheduled departure of a three week cycling trip - completely paid for and not refundable. I contacted Travelex and spoke with a very helpful agent who promptly emailed me the required forms. It took a little work to get everything filled out by the doctors and completed by me, but the requests were reasonable. I submitted the forms and was told it would take one to two weeks for their review. After two weeks I called to find the status of the claim and was told a check had been mailed the previous week. Sure enough, the next day, I received a check from Travelex for the entire amount of the claim. I will certainly be using these guys for any other trips we take.

I went on a vacation and had some unfortunate medical issues. The emergency provider, On-Call is horrible and they bury you in paperwork instead of trying to help you.

TravelEx Claim Administration is no better. I filed 2 separate claims and provided all the documentation and now 1 month later I have not received any payment or information. I called to follow up and I was told someone would call me but noone did.

They did string me along, making partial payments until I persisted..

Finally 4 months later and several faxes and mailings later, the claim was settled, not exactly an easy process but I did get 95% of the claim reimbursed..

Disaster struck immediately as our first of three connecting flights was cancelled. Had to purchase a last minute replacement with a different airline at full fare. Filed a claim with Travelex that took a little longer than I expected, but 4 months after filing the claim I received a reimbursement check for the cost of the replacement flight. Travel insurance was worth it.

Great coverage. My luggage was so badly damaged, it needed to be replaced before returning home. I purchased a new suitcase, submitted paperwork required and in a couple weeks was reimbursed. Excellent service.

This is the fourth year in a row that we have insured a trip through Travelex. Their prices were fair with good value and, when BA lost our luggage, they reimbursed us promptly for the personal items we had to buy as replacements.

When I saw that I had an eye infection, I called Travelex and asked for an ophthalmologist. I was told they would get back to me and that it might take 6 hours. I was surprised that there isn't a list for all major cities of doctors that can be used. I didn't get an email until June 28th, the day we were leaving on our cruise! I knew this infection would only get worse as I have had one or two previously. I'm glad I checked with a pharmacist who told me I could go to the Walk-In Clinics in London or see a private doctor. I thought all Walk-In Clinics were like the U.S. so I went there. Short story, Walk-in Clinics in England are staffed by nurses who gave me the name of an over-the-counter medicine. I turned my claim in to my insurance company first, who refused payment. Travelex did set me up with a claim # and had emailed me the forms. I then turned in the claim with the proper supporting documentation and it was paid very quickly.

Have always purchased Travelex insurance plans for all of my cruises. It is one of the few companies that includes children at no extra cost and is a primary insurance policy. We had to file a medical claim once and the process was smooth without any hassle. Have already recommend to family and friends.
