basis for claim was within coverage time. Solution fell outside the original time frame. The adjustor and I had different interpretations about the flexibility of the policy. She won, I did not push.

Thank you for your feedback. However, it is true that not only must the claim have occurred during the policy term, the additional expense must also be incurred during that coverage term. A good example is a traveler waiting until returning home before seeking medical treatment for an injury that occurred during the trip. There would be no reimbursement under a travel insurance policy for medical expenses incurred once you returned home.

InsureMyTrip is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year, and our customer care representatives are licensed insurance agents who are able to recommend the most cost effective plans which will cover the travelers primary concerns. Sorry for the delayed response. This is what I thought: I had a normal policy. Coverage for cancellation, for covered causes, began at time of purchase. The original trip included a visit of my daughter. Her newly scheduled operation, just a few days before the starting date of my travel, required that I depart earlier than scheduled and return later (the total trip duration was 30 days).

By the time United Airlines adjusted my schedule I had to purchase the outgoing flight and use my already invested miles for the return flight.

In the pre-departure hurry I did not call you; I thought the event was covered and notification after arrival to Toronto would not affect our relations. The changes and costs were all before the original termination date of the policy; I had no claim for thet period.

I think the problem is that travel insurance policies/adjustors do not consider when the the cause of a claim is within the coverage period, but the resulting costs are incurred outside the orginal travel dates. I don't know how normal coverage can deal with situation; a little extra good will might have helped.

I had no time to think this through and took your agen's word. Under calmer conditions I probably would have engaged in a more substantive debate.

This is how I see it now. The technicality of "late reporting" could have been overlooked and the claim handled with a more open mind. What if I'd had the presence of mind to call you before I made the flight changes? It would have not altered any of the relevant facts.

That's it. What do you think?

I'm very sorry for the delay in replying to your question. Travel insurance policies are very specific and determine payment based on the plans terms and conditions.

That's OK. I'm late, too. In any case, this was a closed case with the insurance company, inasmuch as I elected not to pursue the matter. Since the situation is not likely (I hope) to happen again, I won't pursue it as an academic matter. You are right, even the best-looking policy needs to be scrutinized before finalk acceptance. What happened is simply not something antoicipated by the creators of the text, the agents could not lean towards the "benefit the customer" direction. Soo . . Have a nice holiday season.

PATHETIC..Absolutely no contact from the company for about a month after submitting my claim..Yes, my claim was denied, and that was the proper decision, but the lies, unreturned phone calls and misinformation were inexcusable..The total lack of communication only exacerbated the horrific service..I would NEVER use this co. again, simply due to their apathetic, indifference and abject failure to open a line of communication..Try and reach a manager..That is a joke, as they undoubtedly, hide under their desks, so as to avoid speaking with their customer..AVOID at all cost

We didn’t get to use the insurance (which is the idea!) but it gave us peace of mind all throughout our trip and for that I believe it’s worth it! We did have trip delays and cancellations in our trip to Italy and C&F was fast and efficient in processing our claim... we have an upcoming trip to Croatia and this is the same travel insurance we used!!! Recommended!!!

Purchased this plan in February, 2019 for a trip to Spain that my wife and I were doing on our own in September, 2019. I had to cancel for medical reasons and file a claim. I liked that I could file much of the claim on line. But there were delays in processing and sometimes it seemed like the right hand didn't know what the left hand was doing in their Claims Department. The company received my claim in the mail on 8/24/19. On 9/18/19 I received an email requesting copies of additional receipts which I immediately faxed to them that same day. Having received no acknowledgment of receipt of those documents, I again contacted the insurer via email on 9/20/2019 and received a reply from Claims Support on 9/25/2019 stating “I was able to locate the fax and it is with our linking department who should attach it to your file shortly.” As of 9/30/2019 the insurer’s web site still showed only “Information Requested” on 9/18/2019" and had not been updated to confirm that they received the documentation I had faxed on that same date. Much to my surprise on 9/30/19 I received another email from the insurer with the same request for copies of receipts that they sent me on 9/18/19. That exhausted my patience so I emailed them a complaint that I was ready to file with insuremytrip.com, the Pennsylvania Insurance Commissioner, and their company's CEO. Within minutes of sending that I received a phone call from the Claims Dept. indicating that the receipts I faxed on 9/18 had been found, the claim processed, and the check was in the mail. I did receive the check on 10/3/19. But I felt that the company put me through unnecessary additional stress during the time that I was dealing with my medical issue that was the basis for my trip cancellation and insurance claim.

When I filed the claim the insurance took too long to respond and when they reached out to me they asked for documents that were not available in the country where I received medical treatment (They asked for credit card statement or copy of check-in a country that trade with cash). They also asked for extensive medical documentation that doctors abroad don't provide unless ordered by a judge or by police. The insurance finally paid the claim with whatever statement I provided (Claim was for $29 medical expenses).

We filed two separate claims arising out of the same trip and were very pleased with the response from Travel Insured.

First, a few days before our trip, one of the airlines in our itinerary rescheduled our connecting flight to depart several hours later, which would have caused us to lose half a day of our trip.  We re-booked the connecting flight onto an earlier flight on another airline, but had to pay more than $500 extra due to differences in fares.  We submitted a claim for reimbursement of the fare differential.  I am a lawyer and saw that the policy contained some exclusionary language that Travel Insured could have tried to use to deny our claim, so I did not hold out much hope that the company would pay the claim.  To my surprise and to Travel Insured's credit, it was not a stickler about the policy language and just paid the claim.

Second, the day we left for our trip, a flight made an emergency landing at the airport out of which we were flying.  The airport shut down for several hours, which resulted in cascading delays throughout the rest of the day.  Our flight was delayed by more than six hours, we missed our connecting flight, and we ended up arriving for our vacation a day late.  Travel Insured reimbursed us for a non-refundable hotel night that we missed at our destination, as well as for the hotel and meal expenses we incurred in the connecting city in which we were stranded overnight by the flight delay.

I most certainly would use Travel Insured again.

Returned from Scotland to Canada..no bag. Filed "delayed" baggage form. Stayed over night in Toronto, returning to Florida the following morning, without baggage. Home 3 days when desperate for hair dryer, hair curling iron & cell fone charger. Unfortunately, I am a senior widow and live alone. Did not ask for x amount of daily dollars, I requested reimbursement in the amount of $115.00 for the items I truly needed. No deal, I was home and delayed baggage did not apply sez the CF customer rep. No further comment on what I really think.

Thank you for your feedback on the policy. We are sorry to learn that your bags were delayed. We hope that fellow customer will find your review and our response to be educational and informative.

Unfortunately, the industry standard for all travel insurance is to cover a baggage delay on the outward journey only. This would cover you for personal items you need during your trip.

The certificate for your coverage states the following under Baggage Delay:

"If, while on a Trip, Your checked baggage is delayed or misdirected by a Common Carrier for more than 24 hours from Your time of arrival at a destination other than Your return destination, benefits will be paid, up to the Maximum Benefit Amount shown in the Confirmation of Benefits, for the actual expenditure for necessary personal effects."

In the future, please consider speaking with us prior to purchasing a policy. We would be happy to provide you with an explanation of benefits and go over any questions or concerns you may have. You can reach us at 800-487-4722 or send an email to [email protected].

we booked our travel in May 2019 On June 3, 2019 we purchased insurance. In 1st week of Sept 2019 I received an email that my flight is cancelled by AeroMexico. So I had to go ahead and book my flights again which cost me around $1,500.00 more than the original purchase. I contacted the insurance co they asked me to send them all the proof which I did. for 2 weeks I did not receive any correspondence from the insurance co so I decided to contact them to find out about the status of my claim. The lady that I spoke to told me that this kind of flight cancellations are not covered under their policy. moreover the insurance that I purchased is not refundable plus even though we are flying on the same dates to the same destination the insurance that we paid for does not cover us any more.

Thank you for your review. C&F Travel Insured confirmed you would in fact be able to add the additional cost of the new flights to the plan in the event that you had to cancel/interrupt in the future. After taking a look into your claim, it shows that your plan is still in effect. Please reach out to us at 1-800-243-3174 and we would be happy to help!

Part of our return flight was cancelled due to an airport worker strike. Rebooking to arrive back before we had to return to work cost an extra fee from the airline. C&F Travel promptly sent us a check to cover the trip interruption costs. I would purchase the same policy again!

We unfortunately had to cancel our planned cruise owing to my wife requiring surgery. We filed a claim for the lost cruise cost and airfare. The insurance company asked for some additional paperwork from us. However, when we provided it, the claim was paid without any arguing. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to deal with the insurance company, and how fair they were. Our claim was paid in full, and the total time required was about six weeks. We are very satisfied customers!!!
