We had two claims, both quite small, and both were handled very unprofessionally from our point of view. The first, a cancellation to the original trip, was denied, and they gave a "reason" which I thought was wrong, backed by paragraphs in the terms and conditions that simply didn't refer to our case at all. When I complained to the very nice Customer Service representative -- they were always helpful and pleasant -- he said he would escalate it, and after a few days we were told that, "thanks to the additional information I had provided" they would pay the claim. I had presented reams of backup information at the outset, but nothing at all after the denial, except to comment that I thought they should be ashamed at refusing a small claim when most of the covered expenses turned out to have been refundable -- it was months in advance of the trip. It seemed that they thought I would just accept their denial, but since I didn't, of course they would pay. Not good!
The second claim, a doctor's visit, was totally documented and was approved, but it took me three months to get the check. It had apparently been lost in the mail, and was of course never cashed, but they wouldn't even put in a stop payment order until it was a month late, and then "with the holidays" it took over a month to cut the new check. I certainly do not recommend them.
