I had to file a claim with AIG. Even though I disagree with their final decision, I do and will respect their rules and guidelines. Another plus is AIG actually calls and explain the final decision. I was expecting a paper letter a few months later and close my case. It was nice talking to a friendly person. Again, as much as I disagree with their decision with my claim, I'm buying another AIG Travel Guard plan for the next trip. Great customer service.

We have used AIG a number of times. This was the first time that we had to make a claim. AIG were prompt and courteous in all transactions. They paid in full up to the policy limits.

I was verypleased with the promptness of the payment of the claim and that I didn't have to send in any receipts. However I thought that medical expenses related to having to cancel the trip should have been included since we were away from home, having traveled to another city to catch the flight when my husband became sick. He would not have gone to the doctor except we were told on the phone we had to have documentation in writing from a doctor that proved he couldn't fly. Then that visit wasn't paid for nor the prescriptions he was given. That visit was on the day of travel after flight time so we were on the trip. Also a flight in country was not paid for. I hadn't adequately documented that when I bought the policy. That was unclear to me that it had to be included. But that was probably more my fault.

My husband's health took a turn for the worse shortly before our scheduled cruise. His physician recommended that he not travel at that time. We filed a cancellation claim and were very satisfied with the outcome. It took about a month for the claim to be processed. I chose to handle the claim via their website and the process was easy to follow.

All my claims were fully covered, even the medical Rx's incurred after we had our emergency return from the trip. Airline costs, medical costs, and lost vacation days due to our illness all covered and paid in full.

Upon landing in PHL, I noticed that United had smashed my double hardcase Sporttube. While there was no damage to the skis, the case was ruined. United wrote up a claim but would only offer me a $75 voucher. I only use frequent flier milage when flying United so the voucher was of no use to me and didn't even cover half of what a new Sporttube would cost. After trying multiple times to reach a representative in United who could help me, I turned to AIG. Their response was courteous and in short time they refunded me the entire cost of the double Sporttube. I will definitely use them again on any of my trips and I would recommend them to any travelers, especially those flying United.

It was 2 1/2 months before the claim was paid which I thought was extremely slow. I felt like the claims reps were more interested in not paying the claim than paying it. Finally the claim was paid in full so it turned out OK.

My husband got a promotion at work and as a result he could not take the vacation time as planned. We did get a refund for the majority of the trip from the airline. And AIG was very quick to process our claim for the balance. We're very satisfied.
