I had purchased travel insurance in the past but never had a reason to file a claim. This was the first time we were filing a claim for travel cancellation due to medical reason and I was a bit skeptical about my claim settlement. However Travelex Insurance put all my doubts to rest. Very efficient processing of claim. Completely satisfied. I will recommend Travelex Insurance to everyone.

We have always bought Travelex insurance. They offer a competitive premium and primary not secondary coverage.
We had our first travel claim on our last trip, a Trans Atlantic cruise. They covered the incident and we received claims payment within three weeks. Very satisfied.

A claim was submitted because there was a trip interruption during the cruise in that a port of call was not fulfilled due to weather, a valid condition. Travelex did not honor the claim basically saying that the cruise itself was not interrupted. However, we would not have incurred this additional expense for this port if it were not originally listed in the itinerary. I thought I had appropriate protection coverage only to find out this was not the case. BUYER BEWARE!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!

Missed Cruise Connection Benefit:
We will reimburse you for Covered Expenses, up to the amount shown in the schedule, should you miss your cruise departure as a result of the cancellation or delay of 3 or more hours of all regularly scheduled airline flights due to inclement weather.

We purchased Travelex trip insurance for our trip to Canada last summer. On the 7th day of our 19 day trip, my husband fell while hiking in Newfoundland. Parks Canada staff were phenomenal, as well as the paramedics who came to the scene to assess his situation. We were 5 km in on the trail, and there was question about how we were going to get back to the trail head and get him to the medical attention he needed. He was carried out using a wheelbarrow-like apparatus to a clearing along the trail where a helicopter was waiting to take us to the closest medical facility. Diagnosis: completely torn quadriceps muscle. Luckily, we were told that Mr. Trudeau would be covering the cost of the helicopter, but I was not worried because we had trip insurance. I saved all the receipts from the doctor and emergency room, as well as the medications and apparatus we needed to purchase (a knee immobilizer). We contacted Travelex and they offered to help us if we chose to interrupt our trip-however, even though the trip would be a very different one than we had planned, we chose to continue to the end. I submitted the required forms, along with all of the original receipts when we returned, and within a few week's time, we received our refund. Travelex was great to work with!!

We had a 36 hr delay, needed to get a hotel, meals, transportation, and purchase new tickets in order to meet our cruise. It was a lot of paper work and I kept careful track of every receipt. Travelex took care of the complete claim. So glad I had the insurance!

We had to cancel the trip due to medical problems. Travelex processed the claim within 2-3 weeks and paid for everything we had claimed, including currency conversion fees. Customer service was contacted twice for simple questions; they were very good to talk to and gave accurate information.
I selected Travelex because of the stellar reviews read on insuremytrip and elsewhere. I believe their price was a bit higher than other companies but given the highly positive reviews about the lack of hassle when filing a claim I decided to give them a go. Am glad that I did. I would definitely use Travelex again.

Travelex was a total waste of money for us. Our airline changed time of connecting flight which we purchased as one reservation and one booking number (not even notifying us). We were told about it when we came to the airport. We missed connecting flight and had to buy airline ticket on different airline at the Bangkok airport to continue our trip. It wasn't out fault at all. It wasn't refunded by Travelex.

The Travel Select plan you purchased is a Named Peril Policy, meaning the policy outlines the coverage included and if the reason for trip interruption, missed cruise connection, and/or trip delay is not listed, coverage does not apply. The Description of Coverage was emailed to you on October 30, 2017 at 7:57pm, when the policy was purchased.
If the airline did not provide you with notice that your flight schedule had been changed, or the change made it impossible for you to make the connecting flight, we recommend contacting the airline, by emailing the airline’s claim department, to request reimbursement for the out of pocket expenses you incurred as a result of the change.
We empathize with your unfortunate situation; however, we trust that you understand that based on the terms and conditions of the protection plan purchased, and the information you presented, the reason for your request for reimbursement is not covered."
We lost our home in the California wildfires and the many loops they put us through to try and create paperwork we did not still have as it was burnt in the fire was so very distressing to us. There was little to none empathy from the company. They made us feel that we were not being truthful with them. Will never use Travelex again and will be passing the poor service that we received to all our friends and family.

In order to validate coverage, completed claim forms and documentation are an important part of the claim process as it relates to the specific conditions, as listed in the plan purchased. Once all documentation was received, the Claim Representative promptly assessed the claim and payment was released on November 20, 2017 (within 6 days). We have confirmed that both checks were cashed in December 2017.
