Had to leave cruise due to death in family. Had all the info and sent in a claim, got paid. It was that easy. I always buy insurance, unfortunately (or fortunately) we had to use it. I strongly recommend buying.

I filed a claim to recover over $400 in airline ticket costs because the US State Dept issued a Travel Advisory warning for that portion of Mexico......I was denied and told that cartels bombing ferries in Cozumel isn't really Terrorism?????!!!!!!!!

It's been almost 3 months and all travel mate, the administrator, does is find excuses and tiny technicalities that do not appear to be based in the contractual requirements to not pay the claim. Very unsatisfied. Update - I finally got a check on my claim in August, after the intervention of the travel mate ombudsperson.

We got InsureMyTrip.com involved to assist us in getting the Insurance Company to address our claim after It seemed to stall. I almost always purchase trip insurance and have done so for over 20 yrs. Fortunately, I have only had to file about 4 claims over many years, with the prior 3 reviewed and paid quickly. This was my first experience with this company ("Trip Mate" was the claims administrator for this company) 1st, reply to my claim took much longer than my other claim experiences. The company requested more documentation during the process, which I provided, then was ultimately denied. I challenged the claim (again, after a long wait) and still payment was denied. The claim was a medical expense, and being an ethical doctor in the medical field knowing what care was required, I was able to keep claim amount to a minimum. ALL REQUESTED documentation was provided, but company decided to "interpret" plan provisions in their favor. Not enough of an amount to bother with anything legal, just disappointing ... Will pay a little more next time and go with a larger company.

Because my husband was diagnosed with Mesothelioma I had to cancel this trip .I tried to get my premium back from you. You made the decision not to refund because I did not meet the 14 day cancellation window. I have another trip that I cancelled and the same problem will come up except that premium was much larger. Not sure how I can say good things about your company at this point.

I claimed fly delay (it was 9 hours delay), but I never heard back from them. I try to send few emails, but it is no answer. On Web side it says that clime closed without any explanation. Now I will be claim to return my money that I paid for this insurance.

Great plans, great customer service and quick response. There is a lot of paperwork required when filing a claim, but once the paperwork is submitted, the claim was handled quickly. I will always use TravelSafe when traveling. It's a very small price to pay for peace of mind.

In order for you to cancel your trip due to terrorism, the “Terrorist Incident†must be determined to be "an act of violence, that is deemed terrorism by the United States Government other than civil disorder or riot (that is not an act of war, declared or undeclared) that results in loss of life or major damage to property, by any person acting alone or in association with other persons on behalf of or in connection with any organization of foreign government which is generally recognized as having the intent to overthrow or influence the control of any other foreign government."
