I bought the IMG iTravelInsured SE plan for this trip because a couple of our cruise ports were in foreign countries, and I'd recently seen a friend get injured in one. We're in our 60's and thought insurance was a good idea, particularly for emergency medical transport overseas, which I heard was expensive. The cruise was a big celebration for my sister-in-law's retirement; we were really looking forward to it.
To my surprise my husband's back started bothering him a few months before the cruise. He worked with PT, a chiropractor & his Dr to no avail. Three weeks out he collapsed in pain and was scheduled for urgent surgery, we weren't going anywhere.
I contacted IMG and they immediately emailed a claim form. A real human being was available for my questions. It took about 4 weeks for them to review and process our claim. No fuss or drama. This was a big relief, as we were already miserable about missing the cruise and letting down family.
Bottom line, I highly recommend IMG's travel insurance and will use them again.

The plan was expensive! We did file a claim for medical expenses while out of the country. The response was slow, and not very organized. They waited nearly a month to ask for more documentation! Once they received the additional documentation, they did pay the claim.

I did file a sickness claim this trip with a doctor coming to see me in my villa. My claim is being processed as we speak with results unknown now. Once I know if they reimburse me I can speak more knowledgably. For me, not a computer guru, the claim process took me some time. No matter what you may be submitting a claim on, make sure you keep all receipts and paperwork handy.

This plan is a waste of money. These people are crooks. They denied my claim just because I purchased the plan months after the initial deposit and not within 20 days. They will have small print for whatever situation you might encounter and then not pay. Stay away from this company. It’s junk.

Had medical issue so had to cancel trip. Filed on January 7th. Received payment on march 17th in correct amount.

We had a great experience from beginning to end. Booking through insuremytrip.com is easy. This is the fifth time that we have used insuremytrip.com. On this trip we insured four adults. One person in our party contracted pneumonia, and was treated on the cruise ship. The treatment was aggressive and effective, but the total cost was about $11,000, which was paid before disembarking the ship. After submitting the claim to the insurance company, it was paid in full within 30 days -- excellent service. We would certainly purchase this insurance in the future as long as the premium remained reasonable.

First time ever using trip insurance. We ended up cancelling out trip for convenience and used the "cancel for any reason benefit". Filed a claim and within a few weeks they had approved the entire claim and paid us back at 75% of our non-refundable costs.

Incurred major medical expenses as a result of my wife experiencing medical problems while on a cruise. This involved having to leave the ship, a 4+ hour ambulance ride an overnight stay in a Mexican hospital and an unexpected flight back to Fort Lauderdale. I cannot say enough good things about the reimbursement process with IMG. They accepted all documentation (even medical reports in Spanish) without asking more, the claim was processed timely, email communications described where the claim was in processing. When I did call to check on the process, the customer service rep could not have been more helpful. I would definitely recommend IMG.
