I purchased travel protection for our trip to an all inclusive resort in Mexico. The day after arrival I began to develop symptoms of conjunctivitis. Thinking it was my allergies kicking up, I waited a day to see if my allergy medicine would help. It didn’t. The resort had a medical clinic so I made an appointment and saw a very nice doctor who diagnosed me with conjunctivitis and gave me the required eye drops. Symptoms gone 2 days later. The bill was $291.00. The doctor was very familiar with what paperwork I would need to submit my claim so I left the clinic with paperwork in hand.
Upon return home, I called Nationwide and initiated my claim. I needed to gather a little more paperwork for them like the receipt for my trip showing the total cost of the trip, and a photocopy of my passport showing the stamp for entering Mexico. All paperwork submitted 3 days after returning home.
A few days later I received an email from Nationwide stating that they had received my paperwork and were reviewing it.
2 weeks later I was notified that my claim was approved and they were mailing a check.
1 week after that I received a check for the full amount. Yay!
Overall I was very satisfied.
I was also very grateful for the on site medical clinic and the astute doctor who was very well versed in not only dealing with sick tourists, but with insurance paperwork as well!

It took 2.5 months for HTH/ Nationwide to completely process travel/quarantine claim for trip in February, 2023. It wasn’t until I filed a claim with Illinois Dept of Insurance and customer service at Insure My Trip that I finally got reimbursed claim settled.
