We had to cancel our trip after being diagnosed with Influenza in March 2020. I was concerned that our claim would be seriously delayed due to the number of COVID-19 claims, but was pleased to receive a check in the mail for the full amount within three weeks of submitting our claim. Just purchased a policy from the same company for our rescheduled trip in October.

One week after filing we received an email from AXA confirming our claim had been received and that it could be up to 30 days for a response. Six weeks later we get another email saying the claim cannot be processed without further information, they wanted a copy of an E-ticket for a rebooked flight, since there was no rebooked flight and that was made very clear in the initial claim, I can only assume that AXA was trying to deny the claim and trying to get out of paying out. After responding, they finally issued a check almost three weeks later. So total time to settle was 9-10 weeks. This was a simple claim, dealing with a flight cancellation, hotel reimbursement and alternative travel, I can't imagine how long it would take if it was more complex.

We do want you and your fellow customers to be aware that InsureMyTrip offers a Customer Advocate Program. Customer Advocates are representatives assigned to assist customers who experience issues after filing a claim. Requesting a Customer Advocate is as simple as calling 800-487-4722 or emailing [email protected], explaining the events which resulted in a claim, and the challenges you are facing.
I had to use my travel insurance for my recent trip as I had an unexpected family issue. I used the "Cancel for Any Reason" provision. Claims representatives were very helpful and responsive. I will definitely be purchasing travel insurance from AXA Assistance in the future. I've used Nationwide Mutual Insurance previously, but AXA Assistance had the "Cancel for Any Reason" option.

I was claiming for having to repurchase a flight ticket of $400++ but only got $200 in the mail without a clear explanation of why I could not be fully reimbursed. No one called me to give me the heads up that I could not claim the full sum.
*Follow up: Following the above review, AXA wrote me an email to say they have determined the value according to my plan, although it was not clear which line item of the coverage applied. I upgraded the 'was my claim processed promptly & fairly" and "how satisfied were you with this plan?" by 1*.

We have purchased insurance from AXA to cover three trips, and twice we needed to file a claim. Their response was consistently prompt, compassionate, and fair. We were fully reimbursed for all expenses that we documented on both claims.
