IMG has excellent coverage. We planned a 16 day cruise for 6/12/19. On 6/11, I had a kidney stone that resulted in emergency room care and 4 surgeries that resulted in trip cancellation. I had purchased "cancel for any reason" for an extra cost. On 6/25, I filed claim and scanned all documents required. Notified 7/24 documents unreadable and must be resubmitted. Resubmitted 7/29 via UPS. On 8/19 after 4 calls to Customer Service and Claims Supervisor, notified claim had been reviewed and recommended for settlement.
Customer Service representatives were not helpful and could only say that the claim was "in process." Asked to be referred to Supervisor. Left 4 messages for Supervisor who told me she would investigate and get resolved. Told to submit wire instructions for our Bank. Later told that they did not wire money but needed ACH instructions. Return calls often not made as promised by Supervisor.
On 9/5, claim turned over to UK Manager (Wendy). Wendy was extremely helpful and found where the problem was and worked diligently to have funds transferred. She kept us informed frequently as to the status of the funds transfer. On 9/10, claim paid in full and funds received.
A very tedious and frustrating process until we got to Wendy. Customer Service Representatives and Supervisor communications needs to be improved.
Due to the excellent coverage and reasonable price, we have contracted for our next trip.

We do want you and your fellow customers to be aware that InsureMyTrip offers a Customer Advocate Program. Customer Advocates are representatives assigned to assist customers who experience issues after filing a claim. Requesting a Customer Advocate is as simple as calling 800-487-4722 or emailing [email protected], explaining the events which resulted in a claim, and the challenges you are facing.

We (3 Travelers) purchased the IMG iTravelInsured LX plan because of the coverage it provided for an overseas trip. We ended up cancelling our trip due to one of our travelers having to cancel her trip with us because an immediate family member was diagnosed with cancer, and the Traveler in our group had to take care of the immediate family member. We provided as much detail as possible and the necessary documents to file a Trip Cancellation claim for reimbursement of non-refundable expenses that were covered under the IMG iTravelInsured LX plan. It took two months to gather the documents. We had 90 days to file a claim from the date of the trip cancellation. Initially, IMG paid a partial payment of the claimed expenses we filed for. We found IMG made an error in their calculations on our claim. We were frustrated at this point. We got InsureMyTrip, who we bought the IMG plan through, involved and they assigned an Advocate to assist us with IMG. Approximately one month later, IMG realized the error and paid us the rest of the non-refundable expenses in our claim. We can say that IMG did pay our claim after three plus months for all Travelers in the plan policy. Although it was extremely frustrating at times, we were able to speak to an IMG representative every time we called. Even though we are somewhat dissatisfied with how the process went to get reimbursed under the policy, we would still recommend IMG iTravelinsured LX plan. We found the plan for each of us to be fairly priced for our coverage needs. Just keep documentation of all your travel planned and pay attention to the instructions that tell you what is required if you file a claim. READ YOUR ACTUAL POLICY from the underwriter of the insurance. You have 14 days to reject this plan if something doesn't fit your needs. IMG did come through in the end and did finally process our claim fairly. I would use IMG again.
