This review points out the poor coverage of most policies on the market today. Insurance coverage has to be rated upon the actual care,concern and paid coverage in the event of a major health event . Imagine getting stranded in a 3rd world country and subjected to long term lower quality health care because an insurance company employee decides the care is “adequate. This policy, like most others, has inadequate coverage requirements for evacuation/repatriation. It is unreasonable not to cover for return to home venue rather than closest facility. Also unreasonable not to take into consideration the best medical care available rather than merely “adequateâ€`.

Thank you very much for taking the time to complete this review. Travel insurance plans and premium are determined by each state's insurance department. Premiums are generally based on the age of the traveler, trip cost and length of trip.
Travel insurance providers, who maintain large databases of skilled medical providers and transportation firms, are skilled at handling these types of emergency medical situations. The providers' 24 hour emergency assistance centers are staffed with highly trained individuals who can handle language translation and are trained to ensure that escorts and the appropriate medical equipment are on board. They will coordinate with the host country, local authorities, and the traveler’s physician to determine the best and safest method of transportation as well as managing payment and timing of services. The 24 hr assistance also keeps in touch with family members advising them of the schedule and the traveler's progress in getting back home which includes handling immigration documentation, flight clearances, coordinating ground transportation as well as entry to an appropriate medical facility.Feb 20,2019

Airlines lost my wife’s luggage. Tried calling your service on a Saturday evening, after being on hold for 30 minutes, your service picked up, and then transferred me to another department. After being on hold for another 10 minutes, the medical assistance group picked up. So, I was transferred to a wrong group after 40 minutes on hold, and then was told that the baggage claim people don’t work until Monday. I gave up at that point. Our luggage did come in on Sunday, so I wouldn’t have needed a monetary compensation.

Thankfully didn't need to use - but I felt comforted that they had additional beefed up coverage for hurricane events. Helped me sleep a little more at night instead of worrying about 'what ifs'!

Never bought travel insurance before, but we were headed to the Caribbean near hurricane season, so I figured it was a good idea. When our trip approached, I reviewed the policy and noticed I had entered our departure date incorrectly when I purchased it. I called RoamRight, they corrected the problem quickly and at no cost to me. I had a new policy in my email inbox within a couple hours. Surprisingly good customer service for a service I was unfamiliar with and unsure of.
