Nationwide Mutual Insurance Essential
After looking at many travel insurance providers, we chose Nationwide. Unfortunately, my wife got sick and had to go to the medical center on the Carnival Breeze. We filed with our primary insurance and with Nationwide. My primary applied the entire amount to our deductible. Nationwide paid the entire amount. Yes you have to provide ALL the documents needed and it does take a while. Our cruise was in January and we got the check the 1st week of April. It took longer for my primary to process the claim. Once they received the necessary documents, Nationwide paid in about 15 or so days. We’re very happy with the process. Thank you Nationwide

I want to thank Nationwide and Oncall for the excellent service in getting me home from out of the country as well as the coverage and (as promised) responded to my claim in just under 15 business days. All of the staff that my wife and I spoke with during this difficult time were friendly, efficient and provided answers to all of our questions. I received an additional invoice from the ambulance company after I filed the original claim and you had approved. I called to ask how I should submit this additional claim and you gave an answer and a simple process on how to send it.
Thank you to all and we will certainly use your insurance again in the future and have already recommended you to family and friends.

First time we have filed a claim. Took some work getting all the documentations that is required when you cancel a cruise. I did all they asked and was rewarded with my money back fairly quickly. Thank you Nationwide.

My flight returning home was delayed. The only compensation would have be if I had stayed at a hotel or had receipts for food.
Because I stayed with family I was not reimbursed despite losing work time.
The staff offered to read the plan to me but I do think my lost time should have counted and the inconvenience to my family keeping me at their home

Always travel with travel insurance which I have never had to used until this cruise. On this cruise I fell off the ship and had to have 4 stitches. My disappointment with this policy is that it did not cover eye glasses. My eye glasses were severely damaged during the fall and had to be replaced. Good thing I always travel with an extra pair of glasses.
It only took several weeks after submitting the paperwork to get reimbursement. Was able to submit electronically.

Unfortunately one of my traveling companions had a severe enough allergic reaction to require a trip to the ship's medical office. The charge for the visit was high, the charge for the medication truly outrageous, but Nationwide reviewed the charges and reimbursed us quickly and without problems. Excellent service!

I would highly recommend Nationwide Mutual Insurance for trip insurance and will definitely use them again for future trips. I got sick during a recent cruise and had to visit the ship's doctor which cost me $136.00 for the visit. Nationwide reimbursed me 100% for the doctor fee. I couldn't be happier

I had to submit a claim due to a death in the family on the day we were leaving for our cruise. I called Nationwide to get the claim form and the representative was very attentive, and pointed out the most important sections to complete fully and accurately for the claims adjuster. Thirteen days after submitting my claim online, I received a phone call to get some additional information. They wanted a copy of the obituary or death certificate. She was able to find the obituary online with my extra information. A week and a half later, I received a full refund in the mail. Very satisfied.

We buy travel insurance for any trip that requires pre-payment. This was the first time we had to file a claim. Although there is a lot of paperwork involved in filing a claim (understood) Nationwide was clear and direct with their claim filing instructions. Phone reps were helpful and quickly answered the phone. They promise adjudication within 15 days of filing and took 18 days to issue the payment, although not received for another week. Overall, excellent service and assistance.
