I chose the 'cancel for any reason' option, and when I contacted a representative by phone, I was told my claim was valid, and would be paid. Once I was assigned a (different) representative for email contact, she told me my claim was not covered. I persisted and asked to have a claim form sent to me so I could file. In the end, it was, in fact, covered. If I had not been persistent, I would have lost hundreds of dollars.

Based on your review, it appears you took the steps that we would have recommended, but we do want you and your fellow customers to be aware that InsureMyTrip offers a Customer Advocate Program. Customer Advocates are representatives assigned to assist customers who experience issues after filing a claim. Requesting a Customer Advocate is as simple as calling 800-487-4722 or emailing [email protected], explaining the events which resulted in a claim, and the challenges you are facing.Aug 24,2017

Attempted to go to the doctor while abroad but the April representative I contacted wasn't listening to my request and sent me info for a doctor in a completely different part of the country. By the time they came up with any solution the situation had spiraled and I ended up having to take care of the matter on my own. Essentially this plan is a reimbursement plan-- you find your solution and pay out of pocket and they hypothetically reimburse you. It could take days before they'd find a solution that they'd pay for straight away.
