Travel Insurance Reviews for GeoBlue Voyager Choice

You never know what could happen and these plans are just that, what could happen. Even if nothing happens, you get a peace of mind and can enjoy the holiday without worries.
I would recommend this plan and others depending on what you need.
I chose a plan that met most of our needs and will do so in the future when we travel.

The biggest reason why we purchased this plan, is because of direct insurance billing by foreign hospital - not by subscribers.

Imagine an emergency in a foreign country & having to pay upfront large medical bills & getting reimbursed later - not cool...

Unfortunately (or more accurately, fortunately) we did not need to use any of the benefits of the plan. Knowing we had it however and its coverage made the trip more stress free.

I had no claims. It was easy to purchase. I liked the app because it helps file claims if needed, get prepayment authorization and find providers. It also sends notices of places to avoid because of unrest.

I purchased a week long policy, contract only showed coverage for 1 day. Called to extend and was advised it was updated. Checked the website - still coverage for just 1 day. Called back to extend AGAIN and was told it was extended, but guess what - it wasn't. Demanded a refund then told there was an issue with my credit card. (there was not) Called back to advise and was then told I had to submit my request to cancel in writing. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!! Still no credit or extension.

The plan was fine and e everything was seamless. The only issue was, Frederic suffered an accident during the trip--a dislocated shoulder--and required emergency-room care. What he learned was, medical care in Mexico is incredibly inexpensive. The entire event--with anesthesia, x-rays and a team of care--cost less than the GeoBlue deductible (I believe the deductible was $250 and the hospital bill was under $200). So, he was not sure if he should have even reported it to GeoBlue or not. Insurance in Mexico is probably more important for extreme catastrophic events. It may make a difference when making future insurance purchases--understanding what is really needed. And maybe this policy is the best option, but with this new-found first-hand knowledge, it might inform future choices.

We didn't have to use the policy, but it was nice having the peace of mind that we were covered.

Didn't need to file any claims but the plan was reasonably priced and provided good coverage, providing a piece of mind while on vacation. Was a good value. Insuremytrip made it easy to find and purchase this plan.

What was nice is that they mailed a card so that I had some reference as to who the plan was and phone numbers. No need for printing out the information and folding it up and tucking it with my travel papers. While I never used the plan, found it to be reasonably priced and what I needed 'just in case'.
