Very limited coverage for attending events. I flew across the country to attend the Daytona 500 race and since I was spending a few extra days in Daytona it doesn't look like you cover my race ticket costs if the race was postponed and I had to fly out before they could race again. I also just signed up for Sapphire Reserve and it looks like they cover a lot of the travel insurance I need going forward.

The only issue I had was setting up the claim. My father in-law passed away. The customer service agent wanted me to file the claim for an illness, which requires doctors to provide information. I thought that was odd for the situation. I spoke to a second customer service representative and they said to just send in the death certificate.

Although expensive- travel insurance is recommended when the weather can be uncertain, or whenever any less obvious or unanticipated travel interruptions/delays may occur. It's easy to understand how the insurance industry can make substantial profits from these policies.
