This is just to let you know that while we were satisfied that almost all of the claim we made was reimbursed - the tedious process of the entire thing was very distressing.
Back and forth requests for information became aggravating. Why not say up front all the documentation you need - instead of piecemeal requests?
AND- if it is quite clear that the flight was delayed and we did NOT arrive on the day scheduled...isn't it obvious that we were NOT at the hotel that night and had to pay for it anyway?
It took so long for this claim to settle- I would never use IMG again.

I've said I would not recommend the plan we got because of the hassle of the claims experience. Our claim was for less than $375 and it was very straightforward, and yet it took more than three months for it to be processed -- which I could have accepted had it not been for the confusing forms and equally confusing follow-up requests for additional information. In the end though we got payment. And I would probably think about the same policy again mainly because, from what I read, our experience is probably typical, though regrettable, for dealing with this type of insurance coverage.

This was one of the worst customer service experiences ever. I had to call multiple times via phone to find out the status of my claim for a simple travel delay because the website claim tracking was not working. This was several months after submitting the claim. Each time, after a long wait on hold, I spoke with someone who was unable to tell me anything. I finally received an email explaining that they were unable to find my claim information. I emailed a copy of the USPS receipt showing all of the delivery information and resubmitted all of my paperwork. Weeks went by again. An email to customer service threatening to report them to the CA Insurance Commission produced an apologetic email that also said that they process claims within 10 business days! Approximately 5 months after submitting the claim, I finally received a payment. Do not use this company.

I was unsatisfied with the slow speed of processing our claim (two months) and the settlement. The company denied the airfare cost of my family of four returning home early from our Irish vacation because two of our party came down with pneumonia. They did pay for the medical and lodging costs due to an air delay, but not the cost of the additional airfare to cut our trip short, which was the bulk of our claim. I travel a lot and purchase trip insurance regularly. The one thing I purchase insurance for is hassle free coverage and timeliness. IMG fell short in both regards. This is the first time i have used IMG and it will be the last.
