HTH Worldwide Trip Protector Classic
Feel like we were taken for a ride by HTH. We had a 30 hour delay in Dallas due to weather (or supposed weather according to American Airlines). Baggage was sent on to out final destination so we had nothing. I had purchased the policy because it had a provision for compensation for a 6+ hour delay as well as baggage delay. HTH response on attempting to file a claim was that we were not covered. And I guess if you read the fine print it can be interpreted that way. Baggage was reunited with us 40 hours later. HTH interprets this as not being covered since we were on our home bound leg. However, we were not home. We were in Dallas Texas with nothing! Dallas was not our final destination. Still they will not budge and cover us. I can understand that if we were actually home that we could drive to our house and have some fresh clothes. However Dallas is a 9 hour drive from our home. A very interesting interpretation of the coverage.

Sorry to say that I have used this policy many times in my travels but I never will again. Even had a claim speedily handled by them 6 years ago. This time the policy was shown to be highly deficient with so many loopholes in it that it would be unlikely to be able to file any successful claim.

My advice to others considering this coverage. Go elsewhere. Both HTC and InsureMyTrip have failed me big time.

    Our "Anytime" Advocates reached out to the HTH Worldwide claims processors who advised us that you did not actually file a claim. Nevertheless we agreed that there would be no coverage available under this plan for your baggage if delayed on your travel home:

    "BAGGAGE DELAY (Outward Journey Only)
    The Company will reimburse You for the expense of necessary personal effects, up to the Maximum Benefit shown on the Confirmation of Coverage, if Your Checked Baggage is delayed or misdirected by a Common Carrier for more than twelve (12) hours, while on a Trip. You must be a ticketed passenger on a Common Carrier. Additionally, all claims must be verified by the Common Carrier who must certify the delay or misdirection and receipts for the purchases must accompany any claim."

    Please also note that HTH is not unique in providing baggage delay for the outward journey only. That is actually a standard limitation in most plans.

Spoke with a pleasant, patient, well informed representative who quickly directed me to the Hamilton Medical Center where I received immediate, professional care for my condition. We filed a claim on 11/2/17, claim was paid in full on 12/5/17. We received clear instructions via email as soon as we notified the carrier. The only issue, which was pointed out to the carrier: the look back period per the policy was 60 days, the claim for stated the look back period was 90 days. This descrepancy did not affect our claim.

HTH Worldwide Trip Protector Classic
This was probably the easiest claims process I've ever used (and I've used several). I just went online, pulled down the list of needed documents (no surprises there), then scanned the docs and sent them in an email. 7 days later they sent me an email showing the claim settlement, and a few days later I got the check in the mail. No need to call during business hours; no need to ask for clarification on anything.

I submitted a claim for $250 in medical & pharmacy expenses, and they paid everything except the $6 Uber ride to the doctor (and when they denied that, they sent me the language from the policy explaining why).

Their policy was slightly more expensive than another company's, but I think it was worth it for the ease and speed of filing the claim.

Claim settlement is very disappointing. They didn't consider even additional $50 expenses apart from insured amount which I had to spend in preparation of trip for which I did provide appropriate receipt as well. Usually other insurance companies do consider this so DO NOT buy HTH worldwide trip insurance.

HTH Worldwide Trip Protector Classic
Because of a health issue just prior to boarding our plane, we were unable to fly as scheduled. Rescheduling was costly but because we had trip interruption coverage we were reimbursed for our expense. We never anticipated having to use the insurance but are very thankful that we had purchased the coverage. We filed all the required forms shortly after returning from our trip and our claim was processed promptly. We are grateful to Insure My Trip and HTH Worldwide for providing this coverage. We will never travel abroad without having this insurance. The agents we spoke with both when purchasing our coverage and when we called to see if our rescheduling would be covered were extremely helpful and courteous. Thank you for all of your assistance.

Communication with the company over the email connections did not work. Tryed at least 7 to 9 times to reset password. Never did get it to work. Called the company directly, and they requested information that was not needed, and had to resend duplicate paperwork. In the end, I mailed well over 25 documents, some more than once. Finally on about the 3rd call, I walked step by step our claim. At that point, lady made more notes, but it took an additional couple of weeks to get paid. Should not have been that hard, during this difficult process, I would have liked HTH to call me, instead of their web mail, which I could not get to work. In the end, I got about 90% of what I claimed, so I guess that is ok.

We do want you and your fellow customers to be aware that InsureMyTrip offers a Customer Advocate Program. Customer Advocates are representatives assigned to assist customers who experience issues after filing a claim. Requesting a Customer Advocate is as simple as calling 800-487-4722 or emailing [email protected], explaining the events which resulted in a claim, and the challenges you are facing.

We received your additional documents and the claim was reprocessed in the beginning of April. Our claims turnaround time is 3-4 weeks from when the documents are received.
