I called Generali a few days prior to my trip to Rwanda to get an understanding of the medical evacuation coverage and cancellation coverage due to the Marburg Virus. The phone attendant could not answer any of my questions, was way too casual about his lax responses, told me a supervisor would call me to explain & I never heard from anyone. Seems you are strong on the sales, but the backend service is lousy.

I am not sure as to why I had to pay twice for this coverage. I will NOT recommend this company to others. I felt I was ripped off having to pay twice for the same coverage and getting no explanation from the company.

CSA had an incorrectly listed beneficiary on our policy. I contacted them prior to departure, through their Exceptions department, and was assured that it would be handled within 72 hours. Not only was it not handled prior to departure, or at any time during our trip, I have yet to receive any response or explanation whatsoever from them--and this is now weeks after our return. I was, essentially, uninsured for the trip.

This is the 2nd trip I have insured with InsureMyTrip.
While it is a significant added expense, it is still worthwhile. Please keep up to date on each country as a place such as Rwanda is quite safe and may not warrant the cost of insuring a traveler as in other East African countries.
