I way I read the policy, it does not cover you until you leave the US. So I assume that if you have a flight to New York, for example, on your way to connecting for an overseas flight and have problems or a delay then you are not covered.

I gave Global Underwriters a great view, but honestly my only communication with them was to provide passport IDs before the start of our trip. Fortunately, we had no need to file a claim, and arrived home safely after a successful holiday.

Thank you for your feedback on the policy. The Global Underwriters Diplomat International plan is a terrific Single-Trip Medical plan. The plan covers emergency medical expenses, medical evacuation, Political and Natural Disaster Evacuation and Accidental Death and Dismemberment. As a reminder, Single-Trip Medical plans do not cover Trip Cancellation or Travel Delay.Sep 12,2015

Felt we needed to have coverage for an upcoming trip that would give "Sudden Recurrence" coverage just in case something should reoccur with a pre-existing condition as well as other coverage we were interested in. The Global Underwriters International plan seems to fit just what we were looking for. My hope is that we don't have to use the insurance however it was an "instant peace of mind" as soon as I purchased it. Knowing we have coverage should we need it helps keep added stress out of our vacation. Since we have not left for our trip yet and have not had to use the insurance I gave four stars to "How satisfied were you with this plan". will rate again when we return and/or should we have to use the plan.

This was an easy plan to research and buy. It had everything I wanted for a very reasonable cost. I had peace of mind while my son was on his trip to Kenya, knowing that in the event of an emergency, his medical or evacuation cost would be covered.
