Nationwide Mutual Insurance Choice Cruise
In the past, I had always used the same travel insurance to cover our cruises and, fortunately, never had to file a claim. The insurance seemed pretty generic and so I began a search for cruise specific policies. In my research, I came across Nationwide’s Choice Cruise Plan. The Choice Cruise Plan was a little bit more expensive than the policy I had been using, but the coverage was so much better that I thought the added expense was justified. As it turns out, I was right!

My husband and I cruised in December after hurricanes Irma and Maria caused widespread destruction in the Caribbean. One of our original ports of call was St. Maarten, but due to the devastation suffered on the island, Carnival changed our cruise itinerary from St. Maarten to Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic. After review of our policy, I called Nationwide to confirm itinerary change coverage. The claims department confirmed coverage and gave me specific instructions (over the phone and in a follow-up email) on what was needed to file a claim. I filed our claim on December 18, 2017, and had a check in hand on January 2, 2018. Nationwide Choice Cruise Plan will be the only travel insurance I use for future cruises, and it will always be the cruise insurance I recommend to family and friends.

I would highly recommend Nationwide for all of your travel insurance needs! It gave me peace of mind on my vacation knowing that if any problems occurred, my family would be covered. Should you need to file a claim, there is usually only one form to fill out and just a few supporting documents to provide. Customer service is great and claims are expedited within 15 days. Signing up for the plan on Insuremytrip.com was simple and fast, it took only a few minutes to complete the process once I chose a plan.

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Universal Cruise
Cruise coverage had a change of port provision. Due to hurricane activity, the cruise line changed the ports prior to departure. Nationwide processed my claim quickly and paid the claim without a problem. The required paperwork was complete but not burdensome. I would recommend Nationwide cruise coverage based on this experience.

We had an itinerary change for our cruise and this is the first time that we bought cruise specific insurance. We were compensated very well for this change and the claim filing process was very quick and easy. We will definitely purchase this policy again in the future.

This plan covered change of ports. I booked this cruise specifically for the port stops in st. Thomas and San Juan. Due to the storms, these ports were changed to far less desirable stops. I filed the required paperwork upon return home and was mailed a check for $1500 within a week. No questions asked.

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Essential
Since the 90's, we began purchasing travel insurance due to a parent that was ill and have continued to purchase it for all our travels. Thankfully, we never had to use it before and have sometimes wondered if it was truly needed. Well, when a hurricane forced changes to the itinerary - twice - and finally, to the return date on our cruise, we had no choice but to cut our vacation short and make arrangements to return home early. This resulted in expenses for flights and missed cruise days. We contacted the company and the representative was very helpful and quickly provided us with the proper forms, etc. We filed a claim and submitted our information and receipts to Nationwide. Nationwide processed the claim and we received payment very quickly. In fact, my husband now says we will never again question whether we should purchase travel insurance, (LOL) and he wants to use Nationwide whenever possible.
