Going on cruise w family but one person died before going. Have submitted claim over two months ago but they are difficult to communicate with and keep requesting more documentation with limited ways to submit and no person an available by phone or email.

We have used Generali (under both the CSA; Generali names) policies for years without ever filing a claim and were satisfied. Now that we have gone through the difficult claims process, which took hours and involved some contradictory information from their online help, we'll switch to a company with a clearer description of the coverage offered. Other providers state very clearly what the medical and dental coverage includes, and we will choose between one of them for our upcoming trip. Since our credit card covers all the trip delay, lost and delayed luggage, etc, medical coverage is the important part of a trip that needs coverage from a travel insurance policy.

    Thank you for your review. Although we can understand your wish to just wait until you return home to go for dental treatment, unfortunately no travel insurance provider including Generali would reimburse for dental treatment received once you are home.

    We did contact Generali to explain the confusion in your policy wording.
    Here is their response:

    "We're sorry to hear about the circumstances surrounding your experience, and for not meeting your expectations. We want our customers to choose the correct policy to fit their needs and stress the importance of reviewing your coverage details via the sample Description of Coverage/

After filing a claim with our primary health insurance company and upon receiving their decision and converge, we forwarded everything, i.e., the health provider's bills, the payment by us of the bills, the documents related to the services and payments by the primary, to our secondary insurance company, namely, the Generali Global Assistance Premium Program.
After their review, they made a fair determination of our coverage with them, and sent us a timely check. We were pleased with the process and outcome. Thank You.

Our bag was delayed by the airline for six days. The claim was processed quickly. There is a $200 limit on delayed baggage (less than what we had to buy!) but this is fairly standard for all plans.

I had to cancel my trip with my siblings three weeks before departure because my husband, who was not going, broke his foot and could not walk without crutches, drive, . . He was basically invalid. CSA honored their commitment, paid me the insured cost of the trip and processed it quickly. It made what had been such a disappointment palatable. I can' t say enough to,praise their honorable response. I will always choose CSA when I have a choice.

I do appreciate the prompt response to the claim which I filed after the necessary cancellation of my recent trip plans. I certainly will consider purchasing travel insurance coverage from your organization again when next I schedule a trip to Europe.

CSA is a great company. We had to cancel our trip due to a family death. We had our claim check in less than 3 weeks from the time we mailed the claim papers. We will use them again as long as there premiums are competitive.
