BUYER BEWARE The whole reason for trip insurance is when something goes wrong. We live in Michigan and fly out of Toronto and the borders are no closed. Travel Safe says that it is not a "quarantine" and is an isolation instead and will not honor their plan. I always buy trip insurance and NEVER use it. This company had high ratings and this should not be something that I should have to fight with them about. I would rethink if you want a company to stand behind their product and customer service. I will submit a claim and will update if they change the ruling.

I phoned to add coverage after making my final payment. It took several days for the confirmation of this change to arrive. This made me uncomfortable.

However, it is not unusual for some changes to take up to 3 days to process especially if the request comes in on a weekend.

I had to file a claim, as our entire cruise and flights were canceled due to the hurricanes that hit Texas in the summer of 2017. The initial response with the insurance company was excellent, then it became more and more slower. Unfortunately I had to call them back two times to ask about the status of my claim, as it was 'under review/pending' for nearly 2 1/2 months. After the second time I called asking a status check, I was able to untimely get my claim settled; I was reimburse 100% of what I asked for, so for that, I give them 5 stars. 3.5 stars for their slow responses, but with all the insurance claims being processed, I suppose I understand. Overall, satisfied, but a slower claim waiting time. I would use again.

We had our first claim this year because of Hurricane Sandy. We were delayed in leaving and lost just 1 day of our prepaid trip. I talked to representatives before we left. I must have called a couple times a day just because I was nervous and talking to them about my policy and trip eased my mind. Upon returning I gathered all of my information and filed my claim. It was handled as promptly as could be expected. It took about 6 weeks for the entire process but considering there was a hurricane and I am sure the claims were coming in left and right I am pleased with the outcome.
