Plan did deliver with incident that occurred, however, the documentation process was redundant and I ultimately was denied part of my claim due to a factor out of my control (airport self serve kiosk that was malfunctioning and could not provide a receipt.)

The five-month claim processing time of C&F Travel Insured is worse than poor. It is deceptive and frustrating and designed to make the traveler give up in abject despair. Before purchasing, please read the reviews from people who actually filed claims. They speak to the poor service.

I did not give up, and my claim was settled after five months. Five months following submission of the claim form that they sent, a cover page listing each expense that I created for them, and a receipt for every single expense that I prepared as a PDF.

I filed on June 15 and was approved for payment of the claim on November 16. I am writing this review with facts so other travelers will beware.

I contacted C&F Travel Insured many times. Each of their representatives was courteous and polite. In August a representative “escalated” the claim for me. That had zero effect. No one could tell me when it would be reviewed. In October, I was told that the form they gave me in June was for trip interruption and I needed a trip delay form. Remember they had my documents and explanation since June 15.

I completed the form immediately in October and it was approved November 16. The terms of the insurance coverage were fine, but the five-month length of the claim process was inexcusable. What’s the point of insurance if a traveler cannot get paid?

Our agent was efficient and timely. Within two week of submitting a claim, it was settled. Will definitely purchase insurance from Travel insured next time we travel. Thanks for a great experience.

We purchased this plan for a 23 day trip to Alaska. We primarily wanted medical expense and medical evacuation coverage. For $91, it also came with some trip delay coverage. As our trip was coming to an end, Hurricane Florence threatened the South Carolina coast. Our flight was canceled and re-booked for 3 days later. With a printout of our confirmation in hand, I called the insurance company to be sure I understood the coverage. The coverage was a maximum of $400 ($200/per person) for hotel, meals and transportation for each day of the delay. I kept all of my receipts and a day after our return, I submitted a claim for $1,200. Less than a week after submission, I was notified that our claim was approved and the funds were electronically deposited into our account. I am so pleased with the coverage and service. I have another policy with them for next month. I hope we will not have to use it but am confident that if we do the claims will be handled promptly and efficiently!

We had items stolen out of our luggage. We filed claims with the airlines, TSA, and Travel Insured. I had to wait for the response letters before this claim could be settled. There was a $50.00 deductible and if I didn't have a receipt they only paid 50% of the amount that was stolen. After I waited seven months on the TSA (whom I really think should have been the ones paying for the items stolen because we had two notes left in our luggage showing that the TSA had went through them.) Travel Insured was prompt to pay.

C&F Travel Insured International Trip Protector Lite Expanded
We had to cancel our trip due to death of a family member. Once all necessary paperwork was accumulated and emailed to them it was processed to our satisfaction in 8 days. We will insure with them again in the future.
