After this experience, I will never purchase travel insurance ever again. They covered absolutely nothing. It took forever for the review process. The questions asked during the review process didn't make any sense. And after all the deal, they cover absolutely nothing. I'd heard it was a waste of money. I know what they are talking about now.

You never know how good an insurance policy is until you file a claim, and I haven't. But the coverage and price and documentation were exceptional. I hope never to need it, but it's good to have.

I bought a basic plan that included ~$700 worth of dental and when I called in I was told that the plan didn't cover my toothache due to wisdom tooth pain that started while I was there. This would be fine, except associate Janet was not interested in problem-solving or coming up with alternative solutions, and the phone call we had was one of the most unpleasant I've had in awhile. I won't be recommending this insurance company because of that phone call.

Although it took some time to process my claim, I was notified every step of the way -- that my claim was received, that it was being processed, how much i would be reiumbursed (exactly what I claimed), and when the check would be sent to me. I would most certainly recommend April Travel Protection to any and all travelers.

I did not have to use the plan. However, I called them in advance of the trip, and they were helpful in answering all questions. They also provided me with names of hospitals in Japan that I could potentially go to, and they were comfortable working with.
