We had to cancel the trip due to a family health emergency. The claim was processed and approved one day after submission. I was quite pleased with the customer service and responsiveness!

We unfortunately missed the first day of our cruise due to our flight being cancelled due to an airport workers strike. The insurance claim processing was straight forward and they were very prompt on processing our claim. I will definately use them for our next trip. You always hope that nothing happens to delay your trip, but having an insurance company that is straightforward to deal with and prompt with a fair resolution gives you a lot of peace of mind when travelling.

If not for the InsureMyTrip advocate, I doubt John Hancock would have ever paid my claim. My husband was seriously injured in a fall and required hospitalization 2 days before we were to depart. I sent in all required documents within 10 days of his accident and got virtually no response from JHC. After waiting 3 months and getting no response to my inquiries, I asked InsureMyTrip for help. Their advocate called several times and arranged a conference call where they finally agreed to mail the check asap. Almost 4 months after filing my claim, I did receive full reimbursement, but not until sending multiple additional documents and with phone calls from IMT's advocate. I would never use JHC again.

I did not get the results from my claim that I had hoped, but the response was fair and according to the purchased coverage . Because of a mix-up with the airline, I spent nearly $200 on long-distance overseas telephone fees to get my wife's ticket issued for the return trip. Since this expense was not a result of a trip delay, it was not covered. (Of course, the airline did not accept responsibility, either.) So, although I did not get what I had hoped, John Hancock handled everything promptly and professionally. I would use them again.

Our trip was canceled in Nov. 2017 by our travel tour company, who closed their co.
It took us until March 2018, after many phone converrsations, letters, copies of contracts, etc that it was finally agreed we deserved our monies we paid for our trip that was canceled for us, not by us.
Until this time we have used John Hancock numerous times with no problems, and would recommend.

We insured our December 2017 trip to Antarctica with a JH Travel policy. Due to poor weather, we never made it to our Antarctica destination. When we returned to the states, we filed our claim with Seven Corners (the JH policy had been transferred / sold from JH to Seven Corners). This turned out to be a terrible experience. The customer service was atrocious. The company did everything possible to deflect paying legitimate claims. After countless emails, phone calls and letters, itsl now taken close to four months to receive payment on our full claim. I will never use JH nor Seven Corners for Travel Insurance again! Horrible experience!

My husband and I are very glad we had this trip insurance. Trip insurance has become a must for us, not knowing what circumstances can arise. Unfortunately, we had to cancel due to a health issue with my husband. Fortunately, we had good trip insurance through John Handcock Insurance Agency. Alter filing the claim and their request for additional information from the doctor, we received full payment for the trip expenses incurred. We would highly recommend using this company for all your trip insurance needs.

Due to bad weather, we missed an entire leg of our journey. We obtained a letter from the expedition company detailing the weather problems to submit with our claim along with all other flight and hotel documentation. The only piece of required documentation that surprised me was a copy of my passport showing country entry/exit dates. I feel I was lucky that I noticed that notification of an impending claim had to be provided to John Hancock within 21 days of the trip delay/cancellation. I don't know if I would have had problems if I missed that important piece of information. Once the documentation was submitted, it took about six weeks to receive payment. There were no challenges to my submitted expenses and the whole process went smoothly. I've never had to submit a trip insurance claim before, and I was nervous about the experience, but this was painless. I will definitely use John Hancock again. Thanks!

We were impressed with the ease of filing a claim and the timely response that we received. This was the first time that we had been unfortunate in our travels. We were able to make a call with ease from India to customer service to confirm coverage and assurance that we were covered. The peace of mind allowed us to continue our travels without worrying.
