We had a medical situation come up at the last minute (2 weeks before we were to go) and the claim was settled before we would have gotten back from the trip if we went. Outstanding service. I highly recommend this insurance.

Two items worth mentioning:
1) Difficult to buy the coverage wanted, since everything is bundled, selling and charging for things not needed.
2) I found it confusing and annoying having to keep apart the seller and the insurer, since based on the website names it was really unclear that there is a difference. When I called one of them to clarify the premium paid (there was a significant difference between what I had paid and what was confirmed on the receipt), first thing I was told was "You need to call [the other guys]. Calling the other guys the response was "We can't see that on our end, you'll have to speak with [the other guys]". An easy way to discourage customers and annoy them at the same time. While purchasing the plan provided some sort of peace of mind, based on the "call the other guys" responses I was dreading to have to actually file a claim. Fortunately I didn't have to file a claim, expecting to be bounced back and forth until I (the customer) simply cave and gave up. So from that point of view, buying the plan was only replacing one kind of stress with another. Recommend it? Maybe. Buy it again? Maybe. Only after exploring other one-stop options, where the insurer is the seller and none of these "call the other guys" games. Kind of disappointing.

I purchased this plan through InsureMyTrip.com and was as satisfied as I have always been with the options, service and convenience of purchasing trip insurance. Although I have never needed to file a claim (but having known someone who needed the coverage and DIDN'T buy it), I would never travel outside the country without trip insurance. It's at the top of the to-do list with verifying that my passport is current!!
