My trip from Houston to Martha’s Vinyard was cancelled because of suspension of ferry service from high surge and heavy rains along the New England coast due to the hurricane Jose. I never received the decision on my claim in writing and my wife tells my that someone left a message that my claim with AIG has been denied. I Wasted $100 to protect two air tickets worth $800. Because hurricane Jose was named on September 5 and I bought my insurance for a trip on September 21, the hurricane was foreseeable. The purpose of insirance is to cover such risks and who knows where these hurricanes go or disappear in ten days. This TravelGaurd is a big scam and as a traveler you see these ambiguous fine prints when you have purchased the policy. What a sham and dishonesty it is. Will never buy another travel insurance again. I am not happy with insuremytrip either for not supporting their customers.

My husband get very sick and i have to cancel my trip. in less then 10 days i received all money for the tickets and hotel.

I was so pleasantly surprised! There was no hassle when Hurricane Harvey upset my travel plans and I had to file a claim. AIG will always be first on my list for travel insurance!

This trip insurance was a Godsend! My niece and I had planned to take a two-week vacation/cruise through Greece, Italy, and Barcelona toward the end of August. On August 8, my dad suffered a stroke, so we canceled our trip so we could care for him. Filing the claim was relatively easy online and Tammy, my adjuster, was very prompt and helpful. As soon as they got the paperwork they needed, they settled my claim almost immediately and very fairly. This covered everything, including the nonrefundable tours that I had booked. I always buy travel insurance for major trips and have never needed it until now. I'm so glad I got it and that I booked with this company. Highly recommend!

Flight to France was postponed, because of weather, for 5 hours. It was eventually canceled due to a warning light in the cockpit. This caused my family to miss the first day of our tour in Paris. I filed a claim, which was rejected. I was told that the problem of the warning light was considered maintenance, which was not shown under the policy's list of covered events.
A cancellation due to weather would have been covered, they said, but in this case the 5 hour weather delay was not shown as the cause for cancellation.

Very disappointed in AIG. Will not use them in the future.

Can't help but wonder if the compensation of the adjuster is based on the number of claims he manages to reject.

We had to cancel the trip due to a medical reason. The claim processing was very easy and seamless. Got the check within 2 weeks. The rep even called to alert us that the check was in the mail. Awesome service!

Since my plans were made in November 2016 and I wasn't traveling until June 2017, I thought it prudent to purchase insurance because of the time span involved. It was a smart move because I became ill and needed to cancel the trip. From my first call to AIG and further emails with a representative, I couldn't have been treated in a more friendly and concerned manner. In the last call I received I was told I would be receiving a full refund, which I did. I would definitely recommend purchasing the AIG Travel Guard Basic Plan to anyone who is traveling. It would certainly give them peace of mind to know the protection would be there for them if needed. I know I will use AIG on my next trip.

Never filed a claim before this and was extremely impressed. Flight cancelled forcing us to get a hotel by the airport. Submitted receipt for hotel and incidentals and had a check for full payment in less than a week!

Impressive service! When I called them from England for an emergency matter, they spent time asking the problems that I was having and in less than 30 minutes, they were able to find a list of hospitals which were close from the hotel and they also made sure that all the hospitals were covered by our insurance. Thank you for everything!!

I was in a motorcycle accident in Turkey and my wife was able to contact and have our return trip from Istanbul and emt all the way home from Atlanta to Asheville no problem perfect 5 stars
