While on a Rick Steves Paris vacation in June, we were informed by Delta that our flight home would probably be cancelled because of the Air France pilot strikes. We had no idea how to begin to reschedule because we booked through KLM, the flight was a Delta flight, and the the pilots were Air France pilots. Since I had purchased travel insurance, with the help of our hotel desk clerk, we were able to receive a call from AIG. An employee by the name of Robert Yang (Employee 17020) immediately helped out, got a three-way conference call going with KLM and helped us to get our flights rescheduled. Robert handled the problem so professionally. He helped by calming us down as we were so unsure of how to change our flights and a bit frazzled. He handled things quickly and made sure that we were satisfied with the changes made. I cannot say enough about this employee. He is an asset to your company and we so appreciated dealing with him and AIG.

The only complaint that I have regarding my AIG claim for this trip delay was the fact that $150 per day is a very low estimate of the actual cost of staying in Paris, or any other large city. The room alone, for one night in Paris in June was over $200. And the cost of a couple meals, even though my budget is always small, is at least $15-25 per meal. Other than that, I was pleased at the ease of filing the claim and the speed in which the claim was handled.

Claim was very slow, seen by 3 reviewers. Poor communication with me. I never received an adequate explanation. I sent documents and they always wanted more. I will never use AIG Travel Guard again. I urge you not to offer their services.

Our luggage was delayed for 2 days, so this was very clear cut. AIG has a good website to submit all necessary claim details, and Insuremytrip customer service was very clear on which documentation we should have retained. My only complaint is that there was zero communication from AIG from the day the claim was submitted until 2 months later when the adjuster suddenly called me to clarify a few things about receipts, and I got a check in the mail (but not an email about the resolution status) 2 days later. I tried to contact the adjuster via email and phone about the status and never received responses. It would be great if AIG could at least set expectations for when the adjuster would have time to look at the claim.

We had reason to file a claim after our trip and the process was relatively easy. The claim was handled promptly and our only complaint was that when we checked the website it said closed and they did not clearly communicate that it was approved. It was necessary to call.

Before the trip my wife sustained an injury that made it impossible to go on the trip. I filed a claim with AIG online which was pretty straightforward. I received the full amount that I requested which was for the round trip airfare to Peru and for an internal flight within Peru. I'm very satisfied with this company and will without question use them in the future.

I waited 30+ minutes on the phone before an agent took my call. The recorder said 20 minutes. The time to process a claim is to long. The agent could not answer some of my questions. I would not be able to recommend others if the claim process do not improve.
