While on a Rick Steves Paris vacation in June, we were informed by Delta that our flight home would probably be cancelled because of the Air France pilot strikes. We had no idea how to begin to reschedule because we booked through KLM, the flight was a Delta flight, and the the pilots were Air France pilots. Since I had purchased travel insurance, with the help of our hotel desk clerk, we were able to receive a call from AIG. An employee by the name of Robert Yang (Employee 17020) immediately helped out, got a three-way conference call going with KLM and helped us to get our flights rescheduled. Robert handled the problem so professionally. He helped by calming us down as we were so unsure of how to change our flights and a bit frazzled. He handled things quickly and made sure that we were satisfied with the changes made. I cannot say enough about this employee. He is an asset to your company and we so appreciated dealing with him and AIG.
The only complaint that I have regarding my AIG claim for this trip delay was the fact that $150 per day is a very low estimate of the actual cost of staying in Paris, or any other large city. The room alone, for one night in Paris in June was over $200. And the cost of a couple meals, even though my budget is always small, is at least $15-25 per meal. Other than that, I was pleased at the ease of filing the claim and the speed in which the claim was handled.
