Travel Insurance Reviews for Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection

Very poor service with lack of communication. I got the impression that they just don't care and thus wasted a lot of time. They are carrying the Berkshire Hathaway name and are doing them a disservice.

On Call was just terrible. Multiple agents on every call. Repeated story to new representative every call. No one took notes and failed to follow Dr.'s orders.

We had a bag either stolen or lost off baggage cart. it was a carry on bag. Was told it was not covered because it wasn't checked in. That was not acceptable to us. will never use this Insurance company again.

I submitted a claim and it was quickly handled and paid out promptly.
Customer service was great to work with as well.

Absolute joy of a company to work with on a claim! They make it easy to make the claim with no hassle or additional tactics and then pay out very quickly. I can't gush enough about how happy I was to work with them and was very surprised how quickly they got it all taken care of for me. We use travel insurance extensively for work and personal travel and have had a handful of claims over the years, but this was by far the quickest and easiest claim process. I definitely would recommend them and will also be using them again.

We have been purchasing travel insurance for years but never felt the need for a review. On our last trip there was an accident at home to a family member. We needed to get home in a hurry from Japan. Made it to the bedside within hours of her passing. Filed a claim for "trip interruption" with BHTP. They were very responsive to all calls and emails, and paid the claim in full. Could not have gone any better notwithstanding the sadness of the event.

Filed a claim online. A little confusing at 1st but figured it out. They paid promptly without hassle experienced with other carriers. Will use them in future.

Had to cancel our family trip due to illness. Filed the requested documents with BH and there was absolutely no hassle in receiving the requested non-refundable expenditures. Their process was straightforward and their response was timely. I've never purchased trip insurance before and therefore have never filed a claim so I don't know if it's always this simple but these guys performed as advertised. I would highly recommend them.
