While in Cuba on day 3 both of us tested positive for COVID. We were isolated in a Cuban hospital without any way to communicate due to language barriers, limited Wi-Fi, or Internet. Even though I got through to someone they never responded. I called 4 times. They did nothing to help us. Each call cost $2.99/minute. The bill will be hundreds of dollars for calls that did give us any support.

Was unfortunate that I had to file a medical claim, the process took a little bit but overall was very smooth and was reimbursed for my doctor visit during my trip.

The claims process with WorldTrips is very difficult and cumbersome. They take several weeks to respond for any type of communication or after submitting more documentation. Their online portal is not very user friendly and is in need of an update.

We had a traveling companion contract COVID the day before departure. We filed a claim with ample documentation. Although there was no communication or updates on the claim status, the claim was summarily resolved with full reimbursement after 4-5 weeks from submission. Our experience is that claims are resolved fairly as long as adequate documentation is submitted. The turnaround was about average, and the communication was below average.

Trip delay due to Covid. Didn't take taxis to pharmacy twice or to the train station, switched hotels, ate for 3 days on $15, took train instead of flying, all to save $'s...but they wouldn't pay for a $10 taxi ride because I didn't have a receipt (it was late at night, I'd been traveling all day and I forgot). Two good lessons: 1) don't worry about saving them $'s; and, 2) get receipts for EVERYTHING!

I purchased this plan because of the positive ratings for a trip were taking to the UK and France. 6 days into our trip, while in England, I came down with COVID. I self-tested for the virus and was very sick and unable to complete the second leg of the trip and ended up staying in bed for 6 days in a London hotel. I was unable to use a pre-purchased train ticket and lost a one night stay deposit for our hotel in Paris. World Trips would not cover the expenses because I didn't see a doctor or go to a hospital even though I provided proof of the ticket and hotel purchases and non-use. To add insult to injury, I received one apology after another for the length of time they took to process the claim (almost 3 months). My advice is 1. Select another provider and 2. If you do get sick make sure you have proof from a medical provider.

It took three months from the time we filed our claim to receiving our checks. At one point, more information was requested, and we also had to sign a form indicating that we would not use the value of the tickets that was included as part of our trip cost. All this took quite a bit of time to assemble and supply the information requested. The result was that we received the full amount of our claim: 0ver $8,000 plus interest.
We would have liked the process to move more quickly, but the end result was positive. This was a covid-related claim.

Excellent service and promp attention paid to our situation. flight was delayed due to weather, causing luggage to be delayed for a few days. The frustraion was offset by a paid claim for unexpected associated expenses.
