We just returned 2 weeks ago from a wonderful trip to French Polynesia. But unfortunately we were unable to land in Tahiti as originally scheduled due to a tropical storm which shut down the airport. As a result we missed a connection to a neighboring island and 2 prepaid days at a resort. Eventually we did make our cruise ship departure, but then my wife injured her leg by slipping and falling from a jet ski at the next island. Required 6 stitches by the ship's doctor and a follow up visit. Plus she developed bronchitis and was seen for that. So we had 3 claims with April (trip interruption plus 2 medical), and they just notified me yesterday that all my claims are covered, right to the penny! I am thrilled at April's coverage and responsiveness. Highly recommended and reasonable in price.

Attempted to go to the doctor while abroad but the April representative I contacted wasn't listening to my request and sent me info for a doctor in a completely different part of the country. By the time they came up with any solution the situation had spiraled and I ended up having to take care of the matter on my own. Essentially this plan is a reimbursement plan-- you find your solution and pay out of pocket and they hypothetically reimburse you. It could take days before they'd find a solution that they'd pay for straight away.

This was fantastic. We had an incident while on vacation and had to take our daughter to a doctor and had to pay out of pocket for the visit. April had guided me through the process within 24 hours of notifying them, and I was informed that I'd receive the full amount as a refund within a week of filing the claim.
Perhaps my only complaint was that it was hard to navigate their rates and plans online, but when I called and set it up over the phone the rep was super helpful and got me exactly what I wanted for a very reasonable price.

We were very pleased with April Travel Protection. We had to cancel our trip to Italy because of an injury. There were forms to fill out, of course, but not lengthy. They paid the full limit on the policy. Just be aware that if you keep adding to your trip you need to Increase the limit on your policy. We did not!

Our cruise package was to start from Savannah GA airport. Hurricane Matthew closed that airport and subjected coastal residents like us to a mandatory evacuation. We evacuated to Charlotte NC which was where we were scheduled to change to a Rome IT plane. Even though our lodging and meal expenses in Charlotte were "pre-insured trip", the company paid all claimed expenses as trip interruption!

I did have a small medical issue while in South America. I paid for the care I received and then filed a claim once I was back home. I sent all the required information to the insurance company. I had to call to follow up as they did not acknowledge that they had received my information. I am to receive my check later this week for the cost of the medical care I received. My only comment would be that it would be nice to receive an email saying they received my claim and that it was being processed.

I was unable to take my trip, I made an honest effort to reduce claim. My son had died on same day as I was going to leave on my trip. I faxed my claim on 11/07 and got my check on 12/10,2016. This seems a bit long for what should be a straight forward claim. But over all the claim was fair and I would use this company again.
