If I could give you more than 5 stars I would. I injured my knee and it required major surgery. We had planned the trip of a life time with our church group to Israel. So along with the surgery and disappointment of not going, we had to deal with submitting a claim to get most of our money back. In the high stress period, what we did not need was another problem. I was a little concerned, due to previous experiences with other insurance companies, but filing the claim and getting paid was extremely easy. They responded promptly upon filing the claim, and with a very short time, we had our check for exactly what we expected. Kudo's to an insurance company that not only pays out a legitimate claim, but makes the client jump through no hoops to collect. We simply had to fill out the paper work, get our Doctors verification and wait a very short time to get our money. I have had very few insurance claims in my life, but this was by far the least amount of work and time to receive our money. You do not deserve just 5 stars, you deserve ten for the way our claim was handled. Thank you, it was very appreciated in a extremely stressful point in our lives.

They needed more information on the reason why I filed a claim however instead of emailing me it was emailed to the library where the claim was scanned from. I called because of no response and found out this happened. I was also not reimbursed for the airfare because Delta gave me a credit (which I probably won’t use by 10/19) due to the situation.

    Thank you for your review. You bring up an interesting point about insuring the cost of prepaid and nonrefundable airfare, many travelers often have questions about this as well. Comprehensive policies cover 100% of the prepaid nonrefundable trip costs as long as all of those expenses are insured. When it comes to airfare and insuring the expense on your policy, in the event of a claim you have the option to either accept the airline credit or deny the credit and file a claim for that full amount insured on the policy with the insurance provider. By denying the credit and filing with the insurance, you are able to be reimbursed the out of pocket expense from the insurance and not held to using the credit by a certain time with the airline. We purchased this plan for a cruise in French Polynesia. While there, we had a medical emergency which required care. On our return flight to Los Angeles, the flight was delayed and I arrived too late to make my connecting flight and had to get a hotel room at the airport. We filed two claims for these small costs. We never received payment. HOWEVER, we belatedly called the company, and the representative advised that they had mailed checks. The timing was just when we transitioned from our summer home to our winter home, so the checks were clearly lost, and he confirmed that they had not been cashed. He said that he would stop payment on the original checks and issue replacements, which he did. Bottom line, our claims were honored without dispute. A very satisfactory experience!

Only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars on the "all items covered" and "promptly and fairly" questions was because the checks I received indicated there was a letter coming AND I expected a third check for incidentals. After waiting till after the holidays and not receiving a third check or a letter I called and found out the letter was actually an email and it had been sent to an incorrect email address. It took a day or so for the email to be resent and it explained that incidentals were not covered by the policy I purchased. The explanation of everything else covered was fair and reasonable.
