My niece and nephew recommended insuremytrip.com, a plan they use when they go on vacations. We have been travel around the world, but never thought of additional insurance until this year. My mobility difficulties have increased, making it hard for me to get around without the use of a cane, and only walking very short distances. Our trip was made almost a year ago, and didn't want to cancel. So getting hotel, and cruise ship accommodations - rooms and use of a wheelchair, really did help. But was still concerned health wise, and recalling our luggage being delayed several days when we were in Austria, and in Paris, we felt it was beneficial to us to take out travel insurance. For a 2 week travel time frame, the cost was reasonable. When we signed up, the staff were very helpful. We definitely will use insuremytrip.com, as we continue to travel!!! Being safe and prepared is worth the cost.

Nationwide Mutual Insurance

Vieques was hit hard by Hurricane Maria. There is no electric utility service at my destination, though there is an occasional electric generator. Being a CPAP user, nighttime electricity is essential for me. But, Nationwide Mutual considers the hotel "habitable," so my claim was denied. I was only looking to recoup non-refundable costs ($300 total) related to Vieques since I made alternate arrangements to stay in San Juan. So, I am disappointed.
