We have purchased trip insurance for every big vacation, but this is the first time we have ever needed to file a claim. I dreaded what the process might entail, but it was pretty easy. The outcome was fair and was processed in an acceptable amount of time. Thank you.

Unfortunately, my mother-in-law passed away while my husband & I were on a cruise. We flew back to the states after reaching the first port. Although IMG originally asked for some items that didn’t really apply to our situation & their communication & turnaround time was a bit slow, we did receive the full eligible claim reimbursement a little under 2 months after we submitted the claim.

Coverage was fine and online enrollment in the plan went well, but it took 3+ months for IMG to handle a medical claim for reimbursement of shipboard medical expenses because IMG did not accept the cruise line's on-board account statement as sufficient proof that the medical expenses had been incurred, and there was a multi-month delay in the cruise line crediting the on-board account balance to my credit card. I suppose the moral here is avoid ending a cruise with a credit balance in the on-board account, but IMG could have done considerably better.

The plan covered all of my medical, airfare and covered part of our cruise. Other items, such as hotel, taxis and food, were not covered so that will be my out of pocket costs. Overall, satisfied but would have liked to have seen 100% of my costs covered. Will need to read the fine print of plans in the future to see exactly what is covered.
Response time from the company was great and the phone assistance was always helpful too.

I had to repeatedly submit documentation and when I tried to call and speak with an agent, I was not able to contact anyone. It was a very difficult process and not easy to submit what was requested. I would not recommend this company in the future.

I had the unfortunate loss during our covered trip, and upon return, filed a claim. It took 3+ months for reimbursement of funds, including 4 phone calls requesting some sort of answers for the lengthy delays. Ultimately, the claim funds were reimburse to me, however, only after a delay. This was after I submitted all the necessary paperwork, i.e. receipts, medical records, medical release of information, etc., so the delay was not on my (the customers) end. Good coverage for my families needs, but slow to reimburse the covered loss expense.

We do want you and your fellow customers to be aware that InsureMyTrip offers a Customer Advocate Program. Customer Advocates are representatives assigned to assist customers who experience issues after filing a claim. Requesting a Customer Advocate is as simple as calling 800-487-4722 or emailing [email protected], explaining the events which resulted in a claim, and the challenges you are facing.
