I have used my trip insurance numerous times and the first time I needed to use it they didn’t reimburse anything on the grounds that it didn’t insure us in our home country when we were visiting our home country and reside in Egypt and were only going home on vacation

Since we had no need to make a claim (thank goodness), we cannot comment on the effectiveness of the plan. But glad to have the coverage 'just in case'.

We very much like Insuremytrip (first time we've used it) because it compares many different policies and companies. The agents were most helpful when we called for help before deciding on our policy. Though we fortunately did not have a claim with the insurance, it was a good experience. Considering the cost of our trip, we feel that travel insurance is a good thing to have (we have filed a claim in the past when a close relative died). Thank you for your good service.

Relatively easy to sign up online, and seemed to promise adequate coverage. Rather expensive, however, especially considering the brief timeframe covered and the trip costs involved. Extrapolated to an annual rate, this coverage would have cost about $3,000. Would counsel anyone considering this coverage to shop carefully to see if they can find similar coverage for less. I did not have to use the policy - so no idea of how well they honor their promises.

Next time I go on an international trip, I will recommend the HCC Medical Insurance Services Atlas plan to my traveling companions. I did not file a claim, but several of the people traveling with me got sick and did not have the coverage they needed.
