We did file a claim and it was handled fairly . The response time was longer than usual due the claim backlog caused by a hurricane. We did however receive several emails apologizing for the delay.

We filed a claim for prepaid transport from the cruise port in Venice to the airport. Due to high winds and waves, our cruise docked late and people were not allowed to de board until nearly 10AM. We contacted the transport firm and they said they were re-scheduled, but we did not know when we could de-board. They insisted we rescheduled but we coild not provide them a time (and which they said they only wait 15 minutes, so we cancelled). We were emailed that the claim is being processed. About 10 days later, we received an email that our claim for prepaid shuttle to airport costs was honored and we will be getting a check back covering those lost costs. The check arrived today and we are delighted by the outcome and positive service from AIG.

This trip insurance was a Godsend! My niece and I had planned to take a two-week vacation/cruise through Greece, Italy, and Barcelona toward the end of August. On August 8, my dad suffered a stroke, so we canceled our trip so we could care for him. Filing the claim was relatively easy online and Tammy, my adjuster, was very prompt and helpful. As soon as they got the paperwork they needed, they settled my claim almost immediately and very fairly. This covered everything, including the nonrefundable tours that I had booked. I always buy travel insurance for major trips and have never needed it until now. I'm so glad I got it and that I booked with this company. Highly recommend!

AIG's customer service was great. They were knowledgeable, helpful, and always available when I had questions. The claim was processed in a timely manner, even though it was over the holidays. I definitely recommend this plan!

Filed a claim. It took about a month to get my check. Claim was for trip interruption and you should beware that the maximum for return airfare is $750 per person. That goes really quick when you are trying to book a last minute international flight home.

It took 7 weeks, 3 messages and 1 phone call to get my simple claim processed and paid. All 3 of the messages I sent online were ignored and AIG gave me no explanation of when my claim would be processed. It took an angry phone call for any movement to happen.
