Our two week Insight tour to Croatia was cancelled due to lack of guests. I was forced to cancel our Lufthansa air because there was no reason to wander around Croatia without a tour.
NY does not allow a cancel for any reason clause in the trip insurance. Insurance premium is not refundable. Most people DO NOT buy refundable air fare. Air is too much and so is the refundable fare.
Insight refunded the tour payment.
We lost our airfare. Generali did not accept our circumstances and did not refund the air fare. Was it a trip interruption? NO! Generali did nothing for us except take our money. They did not offer a voucher for the $556 premium. I can understand their reason that our problem was not covered but in this day and age things are unsettled. Also we made our purchases in good faith. It was beyond our control that the trip was cancelled. We lost a total of $2400.00.
We have used Generali many times. We never had a problem because we never needed to file a claim.

We also offer a free look back period with all of our plans to allow customers to cancel their policies within a designated period as long as they haven't already left on their trip or filed a claim. The plan you purchased includes approximately 20 different covered events under which we can provide coverage if you are forced to cancel your trip. The plan is unfortunately unable to provide coverage for every event that might cause you to cancel. If there is something specific that you want to be sure is covered, feel free to ask about it before you purchase the policy. The claims representative was Outstanding. I liked your plan that we purchased. I did not read it in detail as to coverage and exclusions. I was not aware that different air fare is not covered due to interruption of a trip due to injury. For example we flew to Croatia using Economy fare. Because of severe injury to my wife's shoulder, we flew back to US using Business class as she had to lay flat. We got reimbursed for the Economy value fare-almost $3,000 vs almost $8,000.
I still liked your policy and have recommended you to our friends who also visited Croatia. Fortunately they did not have to file claim but gave them a peace of mind.

Had to cancel our trip for health reasons and CSA Travel quickly reimbursed us. The claim process was very fast and easy and CSA reps very helpful. I would definitely recommend CSA Travel Insurance.
