Purchased a plan for three of us to cruise to the British Isles next April 2021. We had to cancel our cruise and are very pleased that InsureMyTrip is in the process of refunding the premium we paid.

I was fearful that something healthwise would happen during this trip so I picked a plan with a high medical coverage. Medicare doesn't cover foreign medical expenses. I didn't need the coverage but I had the peace of mind.

We were so fortunate that the trip went well and we didn't need to file a claim. So there is no way I can comment on my satisfaction of the coverage. Obviously, the most meaningful input about a company and the coverage is how the company responded in a time of need -- did they make it difficult to get help or did they react with immediate assistance? Did we receive the help we needed when away in a foreign country for medical treatment or evacuation or whatever was needed or did they throw out obstacles and hoops to jump through? All I can say is that I think and hope the coverage I thought I bought would have been there if it had been needed.

Comprehensive policy premiums are based on the age of the traveler, trip cost and length of trip so premiums are higher as you get older. However, you also selected the TravelSafe Classic plan which includes the pre-existing medical condition waiver, 100,000 US dollars primary Medical and 1,000,000 US dollars Emergency Medical Evacuation.
As you have done in the past, please continue to call Customer Care at (800) 487-4722 for assistance in selecting a plan. We would be happy to review your various options.
My wife had to extend her trip by 1 week due to unforeseen medical issues experienced by her mother. Contacted a representative to see if she could extend coverage and was told no with no explanation. Was prepared to pay but had to risk a week with no coverage.

We are very sorry to hear that your wife had to extend her trip by one week due to her mother's illness. Unfortunately Comprehensive plans, such as the TravelSafe Classic, will not allow you to extend the policy beyond the expiration date once you are already on your trip.
