I had a claim filed. The claim has now been rejected because delayed luggage by a unionized baggage handler is not covered. This resulted in a missed connection whereby another ticket had to be purchased on a different airline. No reimbursement for the additional ticket.

Forget this plan. They cover nothing. Had to buy another ticket because of mishandled luggage by the baggage handler. Refused to reimburse. "Expense not covered"

We had a flight delay (over 4 hours departing LAX) on the first flight leg of our vacation that caused us to miss a connection in Amsterdam and the first day of our trip in Africa. I notified AIG and they assured me that my plan would cover baggage delays and first day expenses. I filed an expense claim for the baggage delay and for the hotel expense on return from our vacation. The on-line claim process was straightforward. I received updates as the claims were processed. Both were accepted without need for further communication.
I'm very satisfied with the AIG Travel plan and will use it for future trips.

We were forced to cancel our Around The World trip in Nepal due to a medical emergency. AIG was very helpful in filling our claim. We learned during the claims process that our policy only covered medical and transportation home. We did not realize our policy excluded Trip Delay coverage(hotels, meals, local transportation,etc) while waiting for the medical condition to improve so we could fly home. Ask your agent exactly what your policy does and does not cover.
Note to AIG: Our claims adjuster Courtney V did an outstanding job helping us with our claim while in Nepal and after we returned to the US.

Have received WAY TOO MANY emails from AIG telling me to log in check a message besides the actual message from the claims adjuster who already emailed to tell me a check was on its way. Don't waste my time! Will consider another insurance company for our next trip.
