My claim was not processed fairly. It was denied after 60 days (State law allows 21) and the reason given for the denial was not supported by the policy language. When I brought this all to their attention the denial was over-turned and a check was issued. I have not received payment yet, but the over-turning of the denial only happened yesterday.

The worse! took 4 months to find out that my claim was denied because my trip was cancelled 48 hrs prior and April insurance needs 72 hours to make the claim payable.

GoReady Insurance Choice Family Plan
I filed a claim. April Travel worked with the hospital and paid my bills. It took a bit of time for the payment and we had to wait at the hospital a couple hours after being discharged, but eventually the payment came through and April delivered as promised.

This company came through as promised. They were very helpful on the phone and e-mail. Although the premium seemed high at the time of purchase it was worth every penny. April was the best value of the companies shown on insuremytrip.com. I'll gladly buy this again and hope never have to use it.

I had to file a small claim after my child had to visit the ship doctor during our cruise. April Travel Protection was easy to deal with and quick to reimburse me 100% for my medical expenses. They made the process easy and pain-free. I will never travel on a cruise or to a foreign country without Travel Protection. I highly recommend this company.

I had a medical emergency. I called April Travel Insurance to find out where to go. The initial call took forever, I believe almost 25 min. The girl processing my call was VERY slow and ask me for every travel detail that was listed on my policy. She finally directed me to go to an Urgent Care 20 minutes from my hotel, which at the time I did not know the distance. Since I did not have a car, I had to take a taxi. When I arrived at the Urgent Care, I learned that it was closed for the day, so my taxi driver found an Urgent Care 1 block from my hotel. I incurred a $50 taxi expense, which April Travel refused to pay, even though it was their incompetency that led to such a ridiculous and unnecessary expense. I will never use this company again. I guess you get what you pay for. The cheapest = poor and incompetent service!

    Thank you for your feedback on the policy. April Travel Protection has issued the following reply:

    "We are saddened to hear of this client’s Assistance case. APRIL prides itself in providing exceptional Customer and Assistance services to all policyholders. It appears that the business hours provided by our network of providers for the 2015 holidays was inaccurate and led to this unfortunate scenario the same day of the client’s departure to their covered trip. The reimbursement of the taxi expense was provided by APRIL and the check was cashed by the client on May 2, 2016.

    We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you. We hope to have you as a returning customer in the near future."

      Zac, On March 31st I requested a review of my claim. On May 2nd I received and cashed the reimbursement check for the denied taxi charge. The check came with NO explanation. The very next day I received, via email, this response from the claims department:

      "Dear Ms. Lockwood,

      As the claims administrator for American Modern Home Insurance Company, we received your appeal in our office on March 31st 2016, relating to your Trip Medical claims. We have reviewed the facts related to your loss and have determined that our original position of your claim must stand.

      The Taxi cost is not a covered benefit under the Accident or Sickness Medical Expense benefit regardless of the circumstances. Please refer to your policy for valid benefits...."

      So even though they ended up paying the claim in full, I highly doubt I would ever deal with this company again.

our flight was cancelled and we missed a prepaid hotel night in Bangkok. I kept all my receipts and boarding documents (no small task since we were travelling constantly for 2 months) and turned them in after our trip. Received reimbursement within a month. Customer service reps were very sympathetic and helpful.

We cancelled our trip and filed a claim under the Cancel For Any Reason endorsement. The claim was handled efficiently and was settled on a reasonably prompt basis by April.

We had to cancel the vacation due to health problems. Claim filed with April on 11/17/15. No response as of 12/16/15. 1/12/16, claim settled. Would use April again, all things being equal.
