The insuremytrip website was very useful in finding the best plan to suit my needs. I selected the benefits that were important to me to filter the available plans and then picked the one with the lowest price that had decent reviews. We had to cancel our trip due to my wife's illness. The claims process was clear and straight-forward. The Confirmation of Coverage included a link to file a claim. I filled out the web page, which generated an email to me with the claims form attached, as well as clear instructions and a 6-item checklist of items they needed. I had the choice of emailing the documents, uploading them, or mailing them. I chose email. When I emailed the final document on the list (which needed to filled out and signed by a doctor, so it took a week or so), I asked them to keep me apprised of the status of my claim. I didn't hear anything other than an automated response saying they had received my email, so after 5 days I called. It didn't take too long to get through to a live person. They told me it can take up to 15 days to process the claim. Three days later (8 days after I emailed the last document), I received an email saying the claim was approved and payment would be by EFT to my bank. Within a few days, I received notice from my bank that the deposit had been made. I'm quite happy with the whole experience.

I have bought this coverage for many trips but had never before filed a claim. This time I suffered a knee injury before the trip and was unable to go. I submitted all the required information and the plan reimbursed the airline change fee for the trip.

It was our first time buying travel insurance. We did it because the tickets were expensive. We had a family emergency and my mother was hospitalized for almost three weeks. We had to cancel the trip. Travelex reimbursed us 100% of our tickets once we completed the forms and provided the requested documents. It was an easy procedure. Once we submitted the documents, their response was fast. It gives you peace of mind knowing that you can get your money back if something like this happens.

We travel to Mexico every year, and we always purchase travel insurance, specifically for the medical and evacuation coverage. This year during our 3.5 month stay, my father-in-law became gravely ill, so we had to travel back. We made it in time to be with him when he passed. Later, we traveled back to complete our trip. After returning home, we telephoned, and received information on how to file a claim, as the policy covered trip interruption, which we never had even thought about. Within a couple of weeks of them receiving all of the required documents, we received a check in the mail, which covered approximately three quarters of our expenses.

Our bag was stolen from a bus in Chile so we had to make our first ever travel insurance claim. I was dreading it, having heard horror stories about delayed or refused claims. We put together a detailed claim with a police report, a full analysis of what was in the bag (from toothpaste to hiking boots!) and as many receipts as we could drag together and it was approved within 3 weeks and the check was in our hands a few days later. We were relieved and impressed. Although the coverage limit was less than our claim that was fine - we had chosen a plan that gave us adequate coverage and it came through. Our experience was excellent and I will plan on buying this policy again for future travels. Thank you.

I purchased this policy, with the inclement weather of the NE area being a concern, when it would be time to fly out for our trip. Turns out I was blindsided when my spouse became ill and had to be hospitalized right before our trip. We had to cancel our trip. I made a claim, filled out the claim forms and submitted the required paperwork. After I sent the claim package in, I was sent a check for our total losses in less than three weeks. We will use this travel insurance company again, with the hopes of not having to use it, but the security of having it if we need it.

Travelex requires too much documentation. Customers might normally not keep boarding passes to prove that they actually followed through on the travel itinerary. They need to provide an alternative method for offering proof.
Travelex processed my claim quickly and for the full amount claimed.

Included on the website, you will find a list of "Frequently Asked Questions" along with the claim forms and a list of the required documents for each type of claim. Many of our customers review and print out this information prior to departing on their trip.
One fact that cannot be stressed enough is to save your receipts and proof of expenses so that you can be accurately reimbursed, whether it be costs due to a delay of travel for hotel or meal, or medical records for emergency treatment received. This is especially important for medical care received overseas, as it can be incredibly difficult to get this paperwork once you have returned home. For filing a claim, nothing is more important than having accurate documentation for your loss.

We had to cancel our trip just days before departure. I called Travelex, they sent claims forms immediately via email. I submitted forms and documentation by postal mail, and received full claim payment into my account within 9 days! I was amazed, because some of our friends on the same tour had cancelled months earlier, with other insurance companies, and still had no response from their insurance carriers! Travelex thru InsureMyTrip will always be my first choice in insurance!
