Although it took about four weeks for the adjuster to start the review of the claim, the process itself was very straightforward and painless. Initially, I submitted all required documentation, and that helped to quickly settle the claim.

My flight was cancelled a few hours before midnight of the day we were supposed to travel. Because of the timing, the plan declined to cover for travel delay or interruption. Apart from medical coverage or a cancellation while we were on the way to the airport, this plan is filled with loopholes - doesn't really cover much and was quite expensive for my family.

At first I was nervous about this plan because it was the second to cheapest option, but I bought it thinking there was very little chance I would need to actually use it. Lo and behold, my trip was cancelled by the tour operator and I had nonrefundable flights. When I was submitting my claim I wasn’t sure if the cancellation reason was covered since it didn’t fall under the usual categories. You do have the option of calling to speak with someone and to ask questions, but I didn’t - I just submitted all my documentation and hoped for the best. The process to submit documentation was simple enough (you can either upload thru the mobile app or send via email), although I wish the mobile app can be improved to provide more details about the claim so that I didn’t need to email again to confirm that my docs were received. They tell you the review process can take up to 15 business days. My claim was approved after 6 business days. Happy it all worked out so I have already purchased Berkshire Hathaway insurance for another upcoming trip and plan to keep using them in the future!

One plan I would buy with eyes closed. When a claim is out, its professional and will be acted upon quickly and in reasonable time with resonable questions. Pleasure to deal with a Company like this.

Long time user of insure my trip and this was my first time filing a claim. My husband had to go to urgent care while hiking in Iceland. I was lazy and filed it 7 months after our trip. The process wasn’t completely clear but the person I spoke to on the phone was very helpful and walked me through the process and I was paid in about 4 weeks.

I travel regularly and have for 25+ years. I have never purchased trip insurance. Due to all the uncertainty with COVID I decided to buy it just in case. Long story short, our Sunday flight home from vacation was canceled by the airline they weren’t able to get us on another one until Tuesday! We had to be back for work/school and ended up paying $1,500 out of pocket to get home on Sunday as we had planned. The airline was terrible to us through the whole ordeal and I was so angry. Then I remembered the insurance!! I submitted a claim with my receipts as soon as we got home and was reimbursed for our out of pocket costs within 5 weeks. Easy Peasy. Definitely recommend!

My husband got COVID during our trip to Mexico so we could not return on time and had to change our air tickets. This plan covered all fees to change the tickets . It was very easy to file a claim and the claim was processed very quickly.

I purchased travel protection from BHTP as I assumed they were a reputable company. I couldn't get through to any emergency line, as their line kept dropping after going through the voice prompts. They haven't responded to my emergency email in days. I have incurred unnecessary costs and severe delays on top of an extremely painful situation. I was going to have peace of mind when purchasing travel insurance whilst traveling to see my father with stage 4 cancer and knowing I'll safely return to my pregnant wife. Instead and my flight was delayed by 12hrs with no alternative barely any reasonable alternatives, Berkshire Hathaway was nowhere to be found.

We apologize for the phone service issues during a very high-volume time. That's not the experience we ever want our customers to have. Unfortunately insurance premiums cannot be refunded when the insured's travel had already commenced and the policy was in force.
