I am very dissatisfied at this time with IMG. We needed to cancel our December 21 cruise due to a sudden documented diagnosis that prevented us from traveling per my physician. Paperwork was submitted and we still have not heard from the IMG group. I have placed 6 phone calls to them.

This is just to let you know that while we were satisfied that almost all of the claim we made was reimbursed - the tedious process of the entire thing was very distressing.
Back and forth requests for information became aggravating. Why not say up front all the documentation you need - instead of piecemeal requests?
AND- if it is quite clear that the flight was delayed and we did NOT arrive on the day scheduled...isn't it obvious that we were NOT at the hotel that night and had to pay for it anyway?
It took so long for this claim to settle- I would never use IMG again.

I was diagnosed with two Cranial Aneurysms over a month before my cruise. I was scheduled for surgery, and told I would not be able to travel or cruise.
I filed my claim, provided a letter on hospital stationary with an explanation. The letter from my neurosurgeon was one of the two accepted pieces of paperwork required. I sent in a copy of everything else they requested, as I had previously discussed with one of their phone representatives.
In the last month, I have had several emails telling me my paperwork was not acceptable, and even after I explained everything to them, they kept asking for different types of copies of payments, etc.
I understand that they do not want to pay fraudulent claims, however, I find their requests to be something that they could have been handled better through a phone call to me.
My advice to anyone using them, realize that they will require all kinds of bills and and cruise paperwork, amongst other things. As the woman I spoke with advised me, you always have to read all of the fine print in the contract. So, I find myself unhappy with them because I believe they could be handling this better. They are the professionals dealing with this daily. When using any insurance agency, do a much more thorough job of reading their requirements, should you need to file a claim.

    UPDATE: My claim was paid on 2/7/24, and I am happy that this process is over. Please make sure when you purchase travel insurance, that you read the small print, have copies of everything and anything related to how you paid for the cruise, and if related to illness, all of the forms they require. It is best not to go by what a representative may tell you on the phone, but by what is in their fine print.
    This will make the process easier for you.

The is/was extremely confusing. Had a near death medical emergency yet trip interruption qualifications weren't met. How? I'm still confused. Not worth the hassle. Not worth the headache. Despite requesting clarity, Still not clear on what clear on what should have been done to utilize the policy.

We're only talking about a claim for $58 , but the process was pretty painless.

I think the key is to follow all of the claim instructions to a T. As long as you submit the the required paperwork and your claim is valid, you should have no problem...at least I didn't. I was able to do everything online, including obtaining the required doctors notes and credit card statements, etc. I then submitted everything through the Insurance company's portal and 8 days later I received payment directly into my bank account . Im sure it takes a much longer for larger claims, but that's expected.

We are completely dissatisfied with the insurance policy purchased from IMG. Our trip did not happen and they denied our claim, even though the coverage included the reason for the cancellation. We have filed an appeal and IMG has been completely non-responsive (other than their auto replies). At this time, we feel we have no option other than proceeding with a complaint to the state insurance department regarding fraud as well as contacting an attorney. We would not recommend using IMG.

Our trip was cancelled. We have provided a great deal of documentation and information but IMG keeps asking for more and more and more - and they are difficult to deal with. Very slow and very, very poor responsiveness and service. Will NEVER buy through this company again. Will probably never receive any of my claims money.
Amended 11/27 - Still the worst I have ever experienced. PLEASE NOTE - the many 4 and 5 star reviews are from customers who NEVER HAD TO FILE A CLAIM. Why would you rate a company when all you did was pay the premium??? The reason for a company earning a 4 or 5 star rating should be for great trip insurance WHEN YOU DO NEED TO FILE A CLIAIM. IMG Medical is NOT that company.

We had to cancel our trip due to an unexpected work requirement for my husband. We promptly filed a claim and have been given the run around for over a month now. I have provided massive amounts of the requested documentation requested and they refuse to process our claim saying they need more information that I have already provided. There is no way to speak to a claims representative handling your specific claim an all correspondences have to take place through email. My emails are not answered and then I get more automatically generated emails requesting the same information that has already been provided. This policy was a complete waste of money and I will never purchase travel insurance from them again.

I have bought insurance from IMG through Insuremytrip for many years. I have spent thousands of dollars. I filed a claim with IMG for a trip taken in June to Europe. It was a small claim of about $375 for an unused hotel accomodation due to a flight cancnellation. They have given such a hard time. First it was denied, then I sent in an appeal after rereding their policu definitions. Again, wait, perhaps no decision until 2023. Really for a claim of $375 from a long time customer.

I wil never sue them again and I travel extensively.
